Magnavox mdv3000f7 does clearing my eeprom enable me to watch dvds of all region
After searching for hours on how to hack into my dvd player, I happen to found one way by:
1. Turn DVD on withoud a dvd in it so it can say "No Disc"
2. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, and "Display"
A new screen will appear showing what model, version and regional format it's in. But at the very bottom right it says "EEPROM:Clear". If I hit clear and clear it up, would that allow all regions? Or will it screw my dvd player up and not allow me to watch dvds?

Unfortunately, nearly all DVD players manufactured are REGION-RESTRICTED, meaning that they will only play DVDs from one region. (It's part of the design of DVD players.)
There are ways around this... but I'm not supposed to tell you to do an internet search using the phrase "DVD region hack" to find out how this is possible. ;)
If you mean to play DVD’s that you may have purchased in another country the see below
For that you need to do a Google for "mymodel region free" or "region free hack"
Not all DVD players are capable of this often very simple modification that many manufacturers build into DVD player. (Usually just involves the remote control and a combination of keys)
Your search will turn up a lot of sharks that want money for the hack (fix)
IGNORE THEM
There are a lot of sites where the information is free.
If after opening up the region free parameter you still have issues and you still want to play your dvd's from around the world you might want to consider another one
I am STILL (lauren) unsure of FIXYA's policy on this topic and am awaiting further clarification on the issue with regards to handing out these codes as this is not HACKING in the same sense as pirate software etc. it is just enabling an extra feature that the manufacturer provided. I would prefer not to get my @ss kicked. That is why I can only give you the search terms rather than site links or specific information
you do a search for "region free hack" and the name / model of your player. not all players are capable bu most are. if you find one set it to region 0 ZERO that is simply put the play anything region
I fully support region free as I think the consumer should be able to buy dvds anywhere they want and watch what they want. Nor do I class the type of hack as piracy in any way now wheres my parrot and cutlas

If this post was usefull click below
There are a lot of web sites tthat carry the information you require.
Some models dont hack as easily as others.
your basic search term should be "all region hack" or "dvd hack"
Hacking your dvd player may sound bad but in most cases it is very simple to do and I support hacking the region as I expect to be able to buy dvds anywhere and stil play them. The region thing is a sham as far as I am concerned. This is NOT piracy
Region code posted by paulstoner75, January 25 2008:
This player is manufactured by the Funai Corporation for Magnavox. This is a very basic DVD player, and despite it's many features, it is not bad for a $31.99 player from Wal-Mart, however...
After speaking with the Funai Corporation Support Line, they have no problem giving out region hack codes for other models they make such as Symphonic, Emerson, as long as the user understands if you make a mistake and something happens, not their fault, etc..
DVDs have region codes to prevent black-market selling of them and
whatnot. Where did you buy the DVD? Where did you buy your DVD player? R I don't think so.
What if you moved to another country? What if you decided to take your
player on your yacht and sit out in international waters watching DVDs? R Try deregioning the hardware. Get the make and model number and enter
it with "de-region" or "DVD region hack" into google. You may find
instructions for de-regioning the player. It usually consists of taking
any discs out, restarting the machine and then entering a number code
that allows you to set the region to "0". Most of the cheaper,
Chinese-made DVD players have a work-around like this. Post the model
and maybe I can find it for you.
