1995 trans sport van new fuel pump, won't start

Fuel pump was running too long after shutting off engine; pump started making noise then wouldnt start up again. Replaced fuel pump and pump has power from connector under driver seat all the way back to the pump. If fuel is delivered (by plastic pop bottle) to engine, van starts up fine. What other sensors/relays etc. could be keeping gas from getting to the engine??

The oil pressure sensor also has a fuel shut off circuit that goes thru it. IF the oil sensor is going bad, the car will start but soon die once the fuel prime connection trips thru to the oil sensor. Replace oil sensor, which is located around the oil filter under car.

If the pump continued to run after shutting off the car you fuel pump relay was probably staying latched. I would replace the relay as well based on your info. Along with the pump the fuel filter should be replaced too and fuel pressure should be checked. Make sure your ground is good also.

SOURCE: Fuel Pump Relay Switch

Underneath your hood, behind the passenger side headlight, behind the core support, is a bank of 2-8 relays. One of those relays is the relay needed for your fuel pump. There will also be a fuel pump relay fuse located there. The relay designation should be on the cover of the relay compartment.

We have a 95 transport van, 3.8 engine recently it started pulling back, putting and the acceleater pulls down on its own after making a stop. We changed the fuel filter n fuel pump for about $300.00 but...

You would have checked fuel pump pressure before replacing the pump.
I would still do that to make sure its not a fuel problem.
The fuse is in the box near the battery.
I've never heard of the gas pedal moving on its own other than when you are using cruise control, or there is something going on with the throttle cable.
Is the check engine light on ?

I have a 1993 Pontiac transport van and it will start up and run for 5 or 10 seconds and die

You may want to do a fuel pressure test to start. The pump could be defective. The fuel pressure should hold steadily and not decline with the pump off. If the fuel pressure falls, you either have a fuel leak, stuck injector, faulty fuel pressure regulator, or a bad fuel pump check valve. If the pressure holds at the correct spec, note the pressure as the engine runs and then dies. If the guage shows correct pressure, you can then move on ruling out the fuel system.

Bad gas van wont run

undo fuel pipe where it exits the fuel pressure regulater and turn engine over , use bucket and rag to catch pumped fuel , do this for half gallon and reconnect ,, then take spark plugs out and clean with easy start (eather) and replace , should start fine now ,
