I tried this first on a new unnamed folder to make sure it worked first. I am using a Mac, and hope this will help you. I went to my "Bookmarks" - "Show All Bookmarks" and simply clicked on the folder I wanted to delete, went to "Edit" and simply hit the delete key. If there are only individual bookmarks in a particular folder, open the folder, click on the bookmark you want to delete, then follow the same steps above.
