You did not mention if your unit was 120VAC or 220VAC parts replacement mandate you know exactly which it is your searching for as far as replacement part sources.

Most often a Defrost problem is one of the following:

1. Defrost timer (there are 4 terminal timers MECHANICAL and Multi terminal ELECTRONIC timers) Any generic Defrost timer will work as long as you know the input voltage and the number of require terminals match.

THE TIMER I BELIEVE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE YOU WILL SEE TWO PHILIP SCREWS REMOVE AND UNPLUG THE WIRE HARNESS FROM TIMER AND VOILA!

its a defrost trermostat located near the evaporator coil and defrost heater coil

It won't be the defrost timer, unusual, it will be the defrost element inside the freezer section behind the back panel or a shorted defrost klixon.
