I had the same problem. he battery would crank, but would not start the car. Checked everything. Then I replaced the battery with a new one and bam, the car started right up.
The vehicle almost certainly has an immobiliser. I suggest you check in the vehicle handbook to ensure it is disarming before you drive yourself mad.
Try not to lose yourself in desperation. In order to start an engine must have compression, timing, fuel and spark - if you have those the engine must start unless it is receiving too little or too much fuel.
If everything seems ok it might be getting too much fuel and further cranking just makes things worse. Try disconnecting the fuel pump and then with the throttle wide open crank the engine for a while.
Cars of a certain age often fire briefly one cold start and then die never to fire again without "the treatment" above.
Have you checked compression? Valve timing?

you may need to run a wire from a keyed ignition source that has power while cranking and running to the fuel pump relay and bypass the pcm to test wether it will run, if it runs put a more permanent wire in place. Not too sure what tests youve done but it seems that fuel is what your focusing on so a quick test is too spray engine start up the intake tube to see if the engine trys to run if it does it eliminates a lot of other potential reasons for a no start condition. Also try squeezing the fuel return line to see if the added pressure will try to make engine run.Could be time to replace fuel pump etc anyway let me know how it goes good luck with it

put a small amount of fuel in the intake near the throttle plate then crank and see if it fires, if it does then it's a fuel problem, if it does not fire then pull a plug wire and put a philips head screw driver into the plug wire hold it 1/4 inch away from a good ground then have someone crank it over, you should see spark and it should be blue, if not then you have a ignition problem a bad coil or cam sensor but need to know what you found out on the two tests I told you first to give you a direction to go.

Yes - sounds like a Pump fuse, relay, or a pump...When you cycle the key (off-on-start-on) do you hear the pump running?
The fuel pump fuse may be under the hood with the other engine fuses - and it well may not be -(there is an accessory fuse box that has all the fuses for the inside accessories in it - located in the passenger compartment somewhere)- also check the kick panels at the drivers left foot and the passengers right foot -(If they pop off easily - The fuse box plastic cover will pop off easily, not attached with screws - so if you see screws or nuts, it won't be there) Look up under the dash on the drivers side, and also lastly check in the glove box- If you cannot find it, I'd see if I could find a Mazda "lovers" web-site - Often they post what is called "component locator" information, that would tell you exactally where it is (Normally you have to pay for access to that information - gotta love the web), or you may be able to locate a electronic owners manual there as well which will definitely tell you ...Best of luck and hope that helps some....

You need to replace the blower motor resistor,it's in the heater box.Number 4 bypasses the resistor and all the other speeds go through it so it's the most likely problem.
