L7VMM2 wont boot (no post) plz help

Hey there have an l7vmm2 When I power up, it will run the CPU fan (power the board and devices) for about 3 seconds and then all power stops from the power supply. Have tried three Power supplies - all are working fine. Memory is fine. This system worked fine when it was put away two years ago. all drives, etc are disconnected for the sake for trouble shooting. Just CPU, fan, memeory. The Memory LED lights up fine. No Beeps. has Onbopard Video but on signal to monitor.

Sounds like the CMOS battery on the motherboard needs replacing...i would try clearing CMOS first, replace battery and test voltage at the CPU (through the BIOS) If that dosen't help you likely have faulty capacitors.
If you get it to boot, im sure drivers and BIOS will need updates if it's been stored 2 yrs.

The sound on my L7VMM2 motherboard is not working.

Hi,

First of all which operating system is on the machine?

Secondly have you been into the BIOS to see if the on-board has been disabled. To get into the BIOS restart the computer and press either the Del or Esc key to access the BIOS.

Also go to device manager and see if the audio has been disabled from there.

If you have installed Windows 7 or Vista then there could be a chance that the motherboard drivers are not designed for the operating system. If that's the case then no driver will work.
You would have to manually search the internet for someone who may have found a compatible driver.

Regards.

Installing Graphics cd in AGP slot...

Usually you need to disable the on-board video/activate the AGP slot in the BIOS before adding the video card. (Check your manual for entering the BIOS - often hit F1 or F2 (or enter when prompted) as you start the computer before the OS starts loading.)

I have no idea how you see the BIOS information without a working video to start.

L7VMM2 ECS motherboard will not boot.

One long and two shorts is usually:

Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information.

You seem pretty comfortable with troubleshooting, so here is a reference document ...

I have power but no video

Do you get the boot up screen when you power the computer on? If you can get into the BIOS, make sure your primary video is set for the onboard. Hope this helps.

L7VMM2 shuts down

I think you have overheating problems
Check all fans are working and vanes are clean including power supply one
Check heat sink on CPU that the vanes etc are clean and clear of dust and fluff
Give case a vacuum out including all vent holes also the ones on inside case of power supply
see how you go this problem is usually the cause of persistent reboot

Power Supply for L7VMM2

well,if you are sure that the new power supply is new and ok,than more than sure,if you dont have any response from the mainboard, that it is damaged by the high tension who allready burned your initial power supply.
I suggest you to visit a specialised service because for now its nothing you can do more.but first be sure you have a quite functional new power supply.
bye
