Cannot turn off the machine

We have resurrected our son's Sony CD Walkman D-NE20 for our forthcoming holiday. We have charged it. We have in serted a favourite cd. We have pressed the play button. We have plugged in the earphones. We have enjoyed the first track. The machine will not play the second track. The machine will not stop spinning when we press the square stop button. When we open the machine the cd is still whizzing around. Help....please!

My s618f will charge from the usb on my computer, but when I am away from home it won't charge from a mains usb charger. This is bad news on a 2 week holiday.
I use my USB cable that came with my Sony and a Wall charger/USB power adapter for and ipod made by apple.

DO NOT TURN it on
remove the battery if possible
put in sun or warm place for a few hours until dry.
reinsert battery and try again.

also works with coffee in laptops...

I cant upload music as i have no cd for the installation it is a sony walkman nw-e013 can anyone help please thanks ..
The Installation CD is not required. You just open the player folder and drag your songs onto the windows.

Just in case if unable to show device icon:
If you have Windows 95 or 98, you may want to upgrade to later versions of Windows (2000, XP, Vista or later).

I need my musicc !
If this installation CD contains a software in order to put your music on your player, then you don't need it. You just drag your music files onto the player using Windows Explorer.

Does the device turn on when connected to the computer? If so, press RESET button on your device and then try again. If the problem continues, you may want to go to the Sony Support Center and download the firmware software for your device.
