What does it mean when my Boflex body fat scale reads Lo then turns off

My scale readout is now blank? Do I have to buy a new battery?

First, did you notice of the scale had a "lo" or "bat" display before it went blank? If so this means the battery needs to be replaced. If you did not get the battery indicator, did you "miss" seeing this? Has it been a week since you were on the scale? If you stand on the scale regularly and did not receive the battery indicator then you can try the reset procedure above.

Have a Health o Meter bfm588dq-81. Getting a Lo lite - replaced the 4 1.5v batteries and still get the Lo lite????

I have not found a manual anywhere currently because the manual is no longer on Health-o-meters website, only the current supported scale. However, I have one and can tell you what I know on how to operate it.

First Remember you ALWAYS have to tap (slightly touch the middle of the scale to initiate it to calibrate ON to ready to take your weight) the scale and you then wait for the little lines at the top and bottom to flash on and off, and then show a 0 on the scale where the Weight will be once you have stepped on the scale. However, make sure your feet are slightly moist (if you just woke up and your feet are dry wipe them with a moist cloth first) for a good contact on the pads that will send the small signal through one leg and back down to the other to measure your body fat and hydration levels.

For those having problems with false readings or Lo readings after changing batteries (Lo means the batteries are low and to change if you haven't done so), make sure batteries are good even if you just bought them by checking them in a Battery Output checker, which you can get at the store...or check the expiration dates on the battery, things can sit around at the store for a while some times especially at small grocery or convenience stores.

Then if you are still getting false or Lo readings, you need to do a Factory Reset by flipping over the scale and look toward the top where you will see a small hole with raised letters, not colored, that show RESET under the small hole. Get a tooth pick or some about the same diameter and put it in the hole and press the little button. You can feel it when you get the toothpick--- or whatever you are using---in the middle of the button and it slightly depresses. Hold it down for at least a count of "One Thousand one to One Thousand ten," which means ten seconds. That should do it.

Then you need to make sure your settings are set by holding down the number on the front end that you will use to save your data, and hold down the Set/Save button on the top front at the same time. When it starts flashing the 5 for Feet in the Height either change that with the History button by pressing it until you get the correct number or leave it by pressing Set/Save button again. Use the Set/Save button to Save and Move to the next item to Set/Save and the History button to Change the number or item such as Gender from Female (the Default is 5Ft 3in Female who is 18 years of age and the Goal starts out at 100 but you can save a Goal Weight or not by choosing YES or NO then set the Goal if you Choose YES).

The Date and time are set by just holding down the Set/Save button until it flashes in the little yellow box in the bottom left of the screen. Then use the buttons the same way as you did above.

By the way when you see H with numbers after you have weighed Saved (To Save: hit Save while the numbers are on the screen) and once they disappear you just press your number again hit History to Scroll through your history... the H stands for Hydration percentage.

Hope this helps.
