Take the fuel line off at the throttle body and at the filter, then blow the line out backwards-push all the water out of the lines.

The igniter interprets signals of time and position from the distributor, fits the efi ecu with information and then the ecu gets back to igniter to tell it when to fire specific cylinder, we used to have problems with the distributors and also igniters.

Are you try scanned the PCM to know if some fault codes are stored there? Are you check injectors? We recommend to de-pressurize your fuel system. Disconnect the power to your fuel pump, by either disconnecting it's power supply, or pulling the fuel pump fuse or relay. Once the fuel pump has no power, crank the engine for a few seconds. The engine might start, but should die a few seconds later. If it continues to idle, then you didn't disconnect your fuel pump.

Once the fuel system is de-pressurized, we can begin to remove various parts from the engine bay to help clear up room. On a typical system, there is a fuel feed, and fuel return. For these types of systems, you would need to disconnect both of the lines, and then disconnect the fuel pressure regulator. The fuel injectors are held in with clips that hold the harness to the injector. Remove these clips, and pop off the wiring harnesses. The fuel rail is held in with a few bolts. Remove these bolts, and then the fuel rail should be loose. Pull the fuel rail out of the intake manifold or cylinder head, and you can now easily remove the fuel injectors.

Couldn't start his but had 40 psi fuel pressure, but even though it turned over. Are you check crankshaft, this is located crank sensor under the a/c compressor, to the left of the balancer. The camshaft sensor is in the timing cover usually behing the PS (Power Steering) fluid tank. FInally, try jumping or bypassing the fuel pump relay to test if have pressure, if this work, then go to the next device, fuel filter, then next at fuel pressure regulator and this way so on.

Chevy 1990 3.1 6 cylinder EVAP leak

  1. Location
    • The fuel filter is under the vehicle on the driver's side of the car, in the area below the seating area. In front of the fuel tank, the fuel filter is positioned on the chassis of the fuel line.
    Identification
    • The fuel filter looks like either a polypropylene film canister or a small spool of thread with a thin tube attached at each end. The vehicle component is relatively small in size and is commonly found in a black or silver color.
    Purpose
    • When gasoline transfers from a gas station's fuel tank to the vehicle's gas tank, dirt and water is transferred with the gasoline as well. Dirt can be transferred from dirty tank sprouts, dirty fuel caps or the dispensing funnels, and water can travel through wet dispensing funnels. When this happens, if unprotected, the contaminants clogs the fuel lines, which destroys the engine, with water causing deterioration and rust. To prevent these and other contaminants from reaching the fuel lines, the fuel filter works as a net to screen out dirt and rust particles, allowing only pure gasoline to fuel the Lumina's engine.
    Warnings/Considerations
    • A fuel filter does not clean itself. Over time, the contaminants will build up within the filter which can cause a barrier from any fuel from reaching the engine. When this happens, remove and clean the fuel filter with a dry wash cloth or issue a replacement as necessary.

You put something back the wrong way.....any amount of water in the tank, carb or whatever WILL NOT cause the engine not to fire.....check any wiring/rewiring you did for accuracy

Water in gas tank how do i remove it

Disconnect battery, remove the tank and drain it.The fuel pump is no good now too, replace it with new. After draining the tank, let it air dry for several hours so that ALL the moisture has dissipated. After reinstalling fuel tank with new pump, safely disconnect a fuel line up at the engine and place in a container.Add new clean gasoline, and cycle the ignition switch on and off so that the fuel pump will come on and flush the fuel lines of old contaminated gasoline and water. After a thorough flushing, replace the fuel filter with new. Also, add a small can of "Dry Gas" to the fuel tank as this will take any remaining moisture out of the tank.Good luck.

I've got bad gas and need to know the easiest way to drain the tank or otherwise fix the problem.

The tank will have to be removed from the vehicle and completely dried out.Gas tanks no longer have drain plugs as they did 50 years ago.Remove the fuel pump from the top of the tank, and thoroughly clean the tank with brake cleaner and compressed air and let air dry for awhile. The fuel pump and filter will need to be replaced with new,and after all the reinstallation, the fuel line must be disconnected at the engine, and the line flushed with new, clean gasoline as well as the return fuel line.Spark plugs will have to be replaced also.
