Hi, The cooling circuit of your refrigerator depends on a small section which must be kept hot in order to heat up the ammonia in the tubing. It can be heated by a gas flame or by an electric resistance heater if so equipped. Usually these two systems are completely separate. It sounds as though service is needed for the gas burner portion. The usual causes are the burner orifice being plugged or damaged, or the gas control being plugged or needing adjustment. Plugged burner tips can be cleaned out with solvent and compressed air, and replacement burner tips are available from small appliance parts distributors. Make sure the thermocouple flame sensor is in the flame path per the manual, and that all the fittings are tight. The thermocouple compresses the air in the tubing as it is heated, opening a valve in the gas control it connects to. If there is any air leakage, the valve will not open. Make sure the flame height and color is adjusted per the manual, and that the vents are free and clear of blockage. Also, make sure that there is LPG pressure at the control valve.

Thanks! Sandy

What is the switch for in bathroom sink of a 1978 Tioga rv?

Ah, I see, an RV!

Ask them direct. The only way anyone here would know is if they had that particular model. As with my last guess, I am going to guess turning on the power to the water heater.

They will supply wiring diagrams and schematics on request.

Motorhome runs 2 miles down highway then will sputter. I put shifter in neutral then turn ignition off then back on and the engine runs great for another 2 miles and it happens again.

I had this problem, it was water in the gas tank from condensation from sitting .
I had to replace the gas tank which had rusted through, and have a supply of fuel filters to change regularly, I also had to regularly add additive to the tank to absorb moisture ( I think they didn't work).
I surely hope that is not your fix, but it was mine.
God bless your efforts.

I HAVE A 1997 FLEETWOOD RV WITH ORIGINAL DOMETIC RM2852 REF IN IT. ALL POWER SEAMS TO WORK (LIGHTS ARE ON PLUGED IN OR OFF OF GAS BUT THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS THE REF OR FREEZER WILL NOT GET COLD

Largest problem is with the cooling unit going bad on these unit at about your units age.
But first
check your 12 volt fuses and make sure both the fuses in the back of the refer and the fuse in the power distribution panel are good
Must have 12 volt for the gas to work

Works great on gas but not on electric

AC electric heating element may be bad. also there should be a fuse for the heating element in the lower control board. Make sure it is unplugged when checking since it is 120 VAC. Hope this helps
