Hampton bay fan light does not go off with remote

please factory reset the remote and then re-program the remote to the device and attempt to use the previously malfunctioning button. Thank you.

The remote is a Hampton Bay remote that should dim the light and fan on and off. I replaced the battery and do not have a red light when I press the button. Light and fan does not turn off with remote.

if you have the remote controll for both the fan and light you can have the controll on both the fan and light...
other wise it can't

You must use the switch on the fan itself.

I checked the hampton bay site and unfortunately whatever dip switch setting on the fan is, the remote needs to be matched to it. better get out the ladder!
