Assuming that you have installed the drivers for your new board, go into Control Panel, select Device manager and Display Adapters. Dissable the onboard adapter and enable the NVidia card.
Dear Artressfam,
Compaq Presario read all types of SD and MMC Cards, but all you need to do is connect your card to any USB card reader then insert USB card reader to on board USB port(Behind the Computer).
I think it helps.
Do you really mean CPU full? Where are you seeing this? In task manager?
If you mean hard drive, rather than CPU, then you need to delete some data files or buy a bigger drive.
The CPU capacity is used when the device is actually processing, so if you are seeing 97% usage when you are not performing and tasks then you have a rogue program or a virus.
Post here again if you would like me to provide diagnostic help.
You may have to go into your BIOS to get the new memory recognized. However, according to the service manual for your computer (found at this link http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00311113.pdf) you should not have to do this. It says your memory is installed incorrectly or it is the wrong type. Since you've verified the type with the original memory, that should not be the problem. Try removing the modules, use some compressed air and blow out the memory sockets, and re-insert them. It is also possible that static electricity could have claimed one or both. Reinstall the original memory to see if the computer will start back up if all of the above does not work. If the original memory works, return the new memory for an exchange.
usually ether pwr supply or mother board. i have seen older Compaq's having bad mother boards. check pwr light on front of pc case. if orange it is mother board, if off pwr suply.
This usually occurs because of corrupted drivers .. you should completely uninstall the sound
card driver, reboot and let windows detect the card and if it's not
plug n play ... install the driver manually, not automatically.
Just what I wanted. I have printed it. Your response was very prompt.
