You didn't say what kind of computer you have so I'm assuming it's not Windows 98 because you would need to download a driver for the card reader. When you plug the card reader in, if you don't have a memory card plugged into it, nothing may show up on your screen. With a card, if nothing shows up on the screen, try "my computer" and look for a "removable drive".
This camera can use an SD card up to 128mb. If you insert the card into the camera and go into the menu to find "copy", you can copy the internal memory to the card. Then, you can use a card reader to download from the card to your computer.
I had a problem with lenovo's reader like this, because i put in the nokia 6600 card, correct format and all, but apparently too old and not yet ment to be read by a computer ...
sd could still be hc ... the system of names is still not set up right. if you got a small black attachment for the card that makes it longer, put it on and try inserting the card again.
check if all the drivers are like they should be.
if you've got a friend with a card reader, make sure the card is ok. and if you've got a friend with a card, make sure the reader is like it's supposed to be
this problem bugged me for weeks!!
finally figured it out today
download the sd card reader drivers from toshiba (not a 3rd party site)
boot into safe mode
delete all the sd card reader drivers currently installed
install the downloaded driver
reboot into normal mode
let the computer go about its business installing the driver, then it should work.
cheers,
thomas..
First you need to see if the computer reconizes the reader, to do this you double click on the computer icon on your desktop, then look to see if there are any drives other than your hard drive and cd roms. If the computer does not see the reader then you may need to download drivers. As to how to get the drivers it depends on your setup if the reader was installed in the computer when you bought it then you will want to go to the computer manfactuer website, if you bought the reader seperatly then you should have recived a disk with it if not go to the website of the card reader manfactuer.
