My cable light dont blink

Turn off your modem (unplug it from the wall or surge protector).

Once you have done this, wait for at least ten seconds, if not one full minute. (This allows the modem to reset itself)

Plug the modem back into the wall or surge protector.

The modem will begin its start-up sequence and finally it should respond with a "blinking" connectivity light.

If you have a wireless or wired router connected to your modem you must make certain that you follow the next steps, or the router may not work to provide you with an Internet connection.

1. Unplug the Modem.
2. Unplug the Router.
3. Wait for one full minute.
4. Plug the Modem back in to the wall or surge protector.
5 Wait for the modem to complete its start-up sequence.
6. Plug in the router. (if you plugged in the router the same time you plugged in your modem, start at step #1 and try again...)
7. Wait for the router to finish its start-up sequence.
8. Test the connectivity to the Internet.

If this does not work, please add some clarification as to what service provider you are using, the type of modem/brand, and if you have a router...

I plug my router into my modem and it just doesn't want to work with me. Everything was working fine, and then last night my connection gradually got worse until I lost the Internet. I plugged my computer...

There must be a small reset button on your router. Hold it down for 30 seconds. Release it. wait for one minute. Now unplug the power and plug it back in. Wait for 1 minute.
Once you reset the router, it will come back to factory default settings.
You will need to reconfigure the router form the start according to your Internet service provider.

Globe symbol won't turn green.

I was banging my head for 2 days with about 35 different configurations and finally tried the following and it worked just fine. Also, tried connecting 3 computers and they all connected with "NO" issues. Even connected wireless with "NO" issues. Now I am at 20mb download speed...J compared to AT&T 1.5mb download speed.

This is my DLINK model -> (DIR-601 Wireless N 150 Home Router Wireless router)

1. Reset your Comcast Surfboard Cable Modem by unplugging it for 5 minutes.

2. Then reset your DLINK Router to the manufactures default settings. Then Unplug DLINK Router for 1 minute then plug it back in (Just plug your cat5 cable into port 1 and connect it to your computer) there should not be anything else plugged into the DLINK Router at the time you make the changes. Just 1 computer can be connected.

3. Went into the DLINK configuration 192.168.0.1 and changed the PPPOE setting that I was using for my AT&T Modem to Dynamic IP (DHCP). Once you make the changes save them and then unplug your DLINK Router it's off.

4. Turn on Comcast Surfboard Cable Modem and wait until all lights are on. Now plug in a cat5 cable from the Surfboard Comcast modem (NOT A CROSSOVER CABLE LIKE THE CD INDICATES) to the INTERNET port of your DLINK Router. Now turn on your DLINK router.

5. Then turn on your computers or restart them and it will pick up IP Addresses from your DLINK Router

Laptop says I have no wireless connection

You need to reset your router. It should be a reset button on the back of the router. Get a stick pin and press and hold for 30 seconds. Then after 1 minute. Unplug your cable/dsl modem and router. Plug the cable modem back in first and after 1 minute plug your router back in. Reinstall the software for your router and you should be able to connect wireless with no problem.

Please rate my response. Thanks.

Cannot obtain internet through router

Try resetting the router and modem. Unplug them both from the electrical outlet. Leave them unplugged for at least 1 minute. Then plug the modem in, let it establish a connection, then plug the router in. Do this with your pc turned off. After you reset the router and modem, plug them all back together and into the pc, then turn the pc back on.
