How to Release the System Lock
Turn on the power. If the system lock is applied, the system-resetting screen appears. Press the following keys in this
order.
MENU ? ENTER ? ENTER ? MENU ? UNDO ? UNDO ? MENU
After pressing the MENU key first, press the remaining six keys within 10 seconds.

This means the number pad is locked. All you need to do is to press and hold the Fn key then tap the numlock key once. This will disengaged the numlock.

download and install it.

Double-click on kkl (kid-key-lock) icon in system tray. Configure mouse & keyboard as per your wish. (my suggestion, dont change any passwords)

To undo it, just type kklquit.

For next use, start kkl (All Programs - kkl), type kklsetup.

Windows also gives you a way to lock keyboard.
Press Windows+U.
Go to "Make the keyboard easier to use"
Check "Turn on filter keys"
Apply
Keyboard is locked. All you get is beeps when you type.

To undo this, double click the new clock-icon in system tray.
Uncheck Filter Keys.

yes this is common rating for laptop any laptop adapter can be replaced see the output voltage and current of another adapter matching . if connector is not matching then solder the matching connector

The Advent support site is rubbish. All drivers/utils they list are easily available else where. The ones that can't be found elsewhere aren't given. Useful. However...

For OLDER Advent Laptops/Notebooks and most Advent PCs are made by 'Medion' a German firm. Their website supplies ALL drivers, utils etc for your laptop by the Medion (MD) model number. This you will find on the back of your laptop and will usually begin with a MD- reference (ignore the Advent model number ****).

Stick this model number, or your serial number if you're using a PC, in here: http://www1.medion.de/downloads/?lang=uk and it will list all the applicable drivers for your notebook.

For NEWER Advent Laptops/Notebooks a Tawainese company called ECS manufacturer the Notebooks. You will find the 'ECS' number on the back of your laptop, similar to ECS-G610 for example (thats the model number for the Advent 7091). This can then be used to search for relevent drivers/BIOS' etc here:

For MUCH OLDER Advent Laptops/Notebooks a company named as Gericom manufactured the notebooks (also known as Gericon in Germany it seems) and also sold under the name's of 'Mecer', 'Acer' and 'Uniwill', among others. These have model numbers similar to N340S8 etc.

Tracking drivers for these is pretty hard, but these guys seem to still have them on an old section of their site:

simple solution, turn off all power to laptop,(remove power cable) then removethe battery,replace the battery, power up,the laptop will reboot your touchpad drive, and it will be as normal,I have a Gericom 1580 xl+ which this fault appears fairly often, this method always worked for me lordy

Most keyboards now a days usually tell you on screen whether or not the caps lock is on but its possiblbe that when you press the key yowards the left or right hand side a light goes on or possibly in the top center if this is not the case then you may have a faulty keyboard.
