Cant find where to change the batteries in the remote... There is no obvious place to put them unless we try to bust it open. Help!

Hi, We just tried to turn our air conditioner on and the remote wouldn't work. I figured it would be the batteries but there is no obvious compartment in the remote to change the batteries unless we try to bust it open. We have a panasonic CS-A24BKP and we would really appreciate your help before paying for anything if it is as 'simple' as changing the batteries. Regards, Hailey.

Heya Harvey,

On the panasonic remotes the batteries are under the slide down part of your remote. Where you slide the face down to expose more buttons keep sliding it down abit more and you should find two aa batts.

If this dosent make sense or you would like me to send a link for the remote let me know.

If you have any other problems please feel free to contact me

How do you put new batteries in the remote control? We are trying to change them but have not been successful, we are obviously putting them in the wrong way.

the bottom of the battery goes against the spring
in the compartment where the batteries go there is an imprint in the plastic which shows the position of the battery

I have a problem. I can not get into my Jaguar. The car would not start last time I got into it so I was going to charge the battery and try again but I can not get into the car.

As i understand your quest you cant open the doors? Can you open the back trunk? If so you can disassamble the back seat wall and enter this way to the car. Post back.

It took a lightening strike. is there a power reset on the unit?

Hi there,
There are two ways to do a reset on *********** board.

CMOS Jumper

1. Open your computer.
2. Look for a mother board jumper labeled as JBAT1, CLR CMOS, CLR TC or just a push button for a mid to high-end mobo. it should be placed near the BIOS or beside the CMOS battery.
3. It should look like this, as you can see there is a white triangle indicator and a number 3. The pins 1,2 are shorted, try to removed the pin and short pins 2,3.

4. Now put the jumper back to pins 1 and 2, it's all done. now you can go to bios and load defaults before you can change values.

CMOS Battery

1. Look for a 3v battery on the mother board.

2. Press the lock downward to remove the battery.
3. After removing the battery re install the battery. by doing this you have successfully cleared BIOS settings.

NOTE: 1. Check the fuse of your AVR if it is busted. replace the busted fuse with same rating.

2. Check your power supply. If it's dead try to fix it by replacing the fuse but it will require soldering tool and skills. 3. Your computer might still work but in my case the usb ports can only read flash drives after the lightning and the network interface card is busted.

Hopefully this information helps.

Samsung TV remote. I noticed today my TV remote wasn't working. I changed the batteries and noticed there had been some leakage from the AAA batteries. Since changing the batteries the 8 buttons on the top...

Giving you some hints. Battery leakage is one enemy of tv control and other remote control. They can corrode your battery spring contact, give contact bridges with neighboring tracks that can cause erratic behavior of your remote.

Some repairs can be done but doesn't guarantee success. First is try to clean the corrosion on battery contact = no power usually. Erratic behavior cause by contact bridging = battery leak residues.

Opening a remote control. Some have screws on its small foot. Covered by a rubber or sticker. Some are notch clip in strategic location you have to fry that one by one, opening first on its weakest side. In some don't want to be open.

Cleaning the board by a soft eraser is one way. After you open the remote. Commonly the button area where contact takes place.

If the first procedure and cleaning doesn't work. Buy new remote or use universal remote controller.

Samsung 550 52"LED- Frozen Remote...Cant change source only channels

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Onkyo tx904

I think it does really happen that way on some things like that , maybe its the controling IC or a busted resistor inside your amp. and check your speakers too. maybe they are shorting inside that makes your amp malfunction. try too open it or its up to you.
