Raymond weil stop watch hands not returning to 12

I recently had the battery chnaged in my W2 for the first time and now the main second sweep and the minute sweep are not returning to 12. I wonder if some combination of button presses will reset or if something should have been done when the battery was taken out?

SOURCE: re-set quartz chronograph sweeping second hand

Easy Soultion worked for me. Believe Me I was worried only had the Seiko Sportura for a week now. My second dial for the stopwatch was re-setting to 5 seconds instead of zero. The Solution is
1. pull the Crown all the way out ( In the position you take the crown to set the time , second click ).
2. To set the minute face of stop watch , keep pressing the top button untill it is zero. To set the second needle to zero keep pressing the bottom button untill it reaches zero or where you like it to re-set each time. Depend on you.
3. Once all neddles of stopwatch are at resting postions ( usually zero) secure the crown back to its normal postion. Test your stop watch , hopefully it will go back to zero when you press the reset button. C

SOURCE: watch stopped running when not worn

Make sure you are turning the crown clockwise and stop winding when you feel the tension increase. Also, try wearing it for a day even if it is not runninr; the motion may be enough to get it going if it is an automatic.
There may be something more wrong with your watch.
If the RW is less than 2 years old you should be covered, they have one of the best warranties in the business.
If it needs repair and is older than 2 years, I would still send it to the RW repair center in NY to see what they can do.

How do you get the back off for new batt

Replacing a Raymond Weil watch battery should be performed by an authorized Raymond Weil dealer. Replacing the battery on contemporary Raymond Weils takes some skill because the case is pressurized on some models or contains a rubber gasket to keep it water-tight. If you determine your Raymond Weil watch has a pressurized case back, don't attempt a battery replacement. Take it to an authorized dealer. The warranty on a recently purchased Raymond Weil watch will be voided if you perform a battery replacement yourself. Replacing the battery yourself on older Raymond Weils without a warranty is an acceptable risk.

Hi I've had my Tango for approximately 8 years and never experienced a problem with it, yesterday I noticed that the second hand moves in five second bursts but still maintains the time well. Any...

Usually a delay in the second hand means a low battery. If you have not had a battery changed in awhile, then thats my best guess. RW suggests a routine maintenence about every 3 years. They have an awesome website. You can read more and get instructions if needed at following link:

My Raymond Weil ladies watch (style 5360TT/WI) was bought in Nov. 1999. A local jewelry store sent it to Raymond Weil for repairs and I got a quote of $360. Is this a reasonable price? They said $260 for a...

Hi Connie,

If the watch has had moisture in it the hands may be damaged and need replacing. But most likely this is not the case and it is one of the things manufacturers try to force customers to pay for when they don't need to.

An independent watchmaker can service your watch most times for less than the manufacturer. Part of this savings is from not forcing you to buy parts you really don't need. The other savings is from much lower overhead so the watchmaker doesn't have to charge as much to make ends meet.

You might get your watch back and send it to a professional watchmaker and get an estimate from them. It will probably be less than you were quoted.

Hope this helps,

The yellow chronograph hand is set between the 11 and 12 instead on at the 12. The manual says to press a "Corrector" button (near number 8 on dial) however my watch does not have this button. How can I...

The instructions that you will find on their web site do not mention the button you describe.

Re-setting the hands is done by pressing the button B (4 o'clock). The instructions are a little ambiguous, so if this fails, then press button A to start and A again to Stop. Then try button B to re-set.

You appear to have the wrong instructions. A new set can be downloaded by going to their web site (www.raymond-weil.com), put your cursor over "customer care" and a drop down menu will appear. Select "instructions for use" and an index of watch types will be displayed. Download the one for your watch.
