Check for a spark. If none, then the coil is bad. Replace it. That should solve your problem.

You need to do a couple of things to get your trimmer back on track. First of all pour out the old gasoline and get rid of it. Then remove the spark plug and go to an auto parts store and get a new one just like the old. If you have your manual, check to see what the recommended spark plug gap is gap it to that specification.
Finally remove the air filter and clean it or replace it as necessary.
Once that is all done, but some new, fresh gasoline. Then put in the new plug and the new gas and u will be good to go. please rate this answer as a FixYa cause it is.

be sure your kill switch is set to run positon and the wires from it arent grounding theirself out . Make sure your spark plug is
grnded to metal when you check for spark.(ground to head away from the spark plug hole
You may have a bad ignition module if you still have no spark or the flywheel keyway has sheared for some reason throwing it out of timing.(removal of flywheel is required to see if the keyways are aligned flywheel and crankshaft)
If your flywheel seems tight then you may be ok
not a high failure rate but it has happened.Gap your plug at .030 then.025 see if that makes a difference? keep going to a smaller gap to show you may have a weak module not able to jump a wider gap.
just a couple things to check hope this helps maybe

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:
You will
need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make
sure the small screen is free of debris.(Should be able to see daylight
through it.)
Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.
If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

First of all, YES. boggs is a word in my dictionary. Remove the muffler and carefully take it apart. Pay close attention as to how it comes apart because it is vary important it goes back the same way. you will probable find that it is clogged. If it is then remove the debree. If it isn't then you will have to adjust the fuel mixture screw. First start the trimmer, then let it run for a few minutes to warm up, then gently turn the screw a little bit at a time counter clockwise first, squeezing the throttle inbetween adjustments . If it starts to take off then fine tune it untile your happy. If it boggs worse then turn it clockwise.
But first check the muffler.
Good luck
