Bad ignition control module. The ICM controls ign.spark and fuel at first 400 rpm,s or so, until pcm takes over. IF PCM receives no signal from the ICM the car will not start. also check connector to ICM 1ST

SOURCE: 1985 corvette no pulse to injectors

Very important that if you are not savvy of working on your Vette ...you would be better off - taking your car to a dealership for repairs on your trouble codes. However if you feel that you want to, First locate your car's alcl this component is located just below the instrument panel and to the left of the center console. Remove the plastic cover the first two slots to your right are the A & B slots.
The A slot is the diagnostic slot and the B slot is the ground slot. Insert the computer key into these slots if you do not have a computer key, a paper clip or wire jumper clip will do, (with the engine off) this is very important...now only put the ignition key to on ( not start !!!) the check engine light will display a code 12 which is one flash followed by two flashes. This code will be flashed three times ..followed by the trouble code stored in your car's computer.

What ever the code is it will be flashed three times. Have a paper and pencil ready and write down the code.

Code #12: Normal No Codes.
Code #13: Open Oxygen Sensor Circuit.
Code #14: Coolant Sensor Circuit Low.
Code #15: Coolant Sensor Circuit High.
Code #21: Throttle Position Sensor High.
Code #22: Throttle Position Sensor Low.
Code #23: Manifold Air Temperature Circuit High.
Code #24: Vehicle Speed Sensor.
Code #25: Manifold Air Temperature Circuit Low.
Code #32: EGR System Failure.
Code #33: Mass Air Flow Sensor High.
Code #34: Mass Air Flow Sensor Low.
Code #36: Mas Air Flow Sensor Burn-Off Function Fault.
Code #41: Cylinder Select Error.
Code #42: Electronic Spark Timing.
Code #43: Electronic Spark Control.
Code #44: Lean Exhaust indication.
Code #45: Rich Exhaust Indication.
Code #46: Vehicle Anti Theft Fault.
Code #51: Faulty Mem-Cal.
Code #52: Fuel Calpak Missing.
Code #52(1990-91 Corvette Only): Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Low.
Code #53: System Over Voltage.
Code #54: Fuel Pump Circuit Low Voltage.
Code #55: Defective ECM.
Code #62: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit High.

Please remember that if you have the computer key installed in the alcl and you start the engine (you will ruin the engine's computer) only put the ignition to on (not to start).

If you should get a check engine soon display.. you can use the above procedure and codes to buy the right part or at the very least to keep from getting taken for a ride and be made to pay hight prices for some inexpensive module that you could have installed yourself.

If your engine displays a trouble code ... your engine will go into limp mode ..it will still run but very poorly. You might be able to reset the computer if it will not start (just to get home) by disconnecting both battery cables and re-installing them ...this is not recommended ..but if you are stranded it might help unitl you get your car home or to a repair shop..good luck.

Good luck and hope this helps.

No injector pulse

1991 this make you OBD1 . You can access a code by jumping 2 terminals together. The injector pulse is from the PCM . If you have no pulse you need to troubleshoot for spark first . If you dont have spark do spark first then injector pulse comes on. If no injector pulse check fuse in engine junction box.Use a volt meter check grounds at PCM. If all else checks out good replace PCM. You may also want to check the TPS. If this sensor short out in the WOT position you also wont get injector pulse.SO disconnect the TPS. and recheck for injector pulse

Lost inj. pulse need to know where the ecm gets crank position from. if from dist.how does it locate #1 1985 crovette

Lost injector pulse. First injector power is supplied by (IGN+) or fues block ,The injector are multi-potr not individual they are fired together, not individually, Now if you lost injection pulse youll need to inspect the Distributor, the pick up is highly suspectable to terminal corrosion, it corrodes easily,so be ready to replace the pick up with a module, (this is spark I know we are on Injector), Do you have spark, then leave this alone, Test injector pulse not at the injector because again its bank fire or group fired You ll need to test thes the connector harness connector,of the injectors. As long as there is spark you should have injector pulse from the injector sub harness connector make your way to the ECM , The ECM controls the energizing of the injector with a transitor or quad driver, they are synchronized to primary ignition . Here a solution if no spark correct for spark. Its either a Distributor pick up failure with ICM module.Do this only is you have no spark. If you have spark and no Injector ,replace ECM

My 1990 Chevy Celebrity wagon 3.1 multiport fuel injection is getting fuel to the rack at 45psi, but is not going through the injectors. Any idea the probable cause?

DO YOU HAVE 12 VOLTS ON INJECTOR WIRE ON ONE SIDE WITH KEY ON? IF SO ARE YOU GETTING SPARK? IF YOU HAVE NEITHER YOU MAY NEED A NEW CRANK SENSOR. VERY COMMON ON THIS ENGINE WHEN THERE IS A LOSS OF SPARK AND INJECTOR PULSE. INJECTOR PULSE(GROUND SIDE)IS CONTROLLED BY THE COMPUTER. IF YOU HAVE SPARK BUT NO INJECTOR PULSE AND 12 VOLTS ON INJECTOR FEED WIRE YOU MAY HAVE A FAUTY ECM(ENGINE COMPUTER)
