First I will suggest you to uninstall your graphic drivers after that go the site of your Laptop manufacture. Once there enter the model number OR service tag of the laptop then request driver (usually found in the web site's "Support Section"). There you should be able to find all the drivers for your model laptop - second Set Game Priority to High state - Delete all the internet temp files from your system If it didn't helps you then simply get the system utility program like PC to Fresher resolve your problem
Yes with a better graphics card. You need Shader 4.0 at least on that graphics card. (Plus a lot more Stream Processors)
The GeForce FX 5200 is an AGP style of graphics card, and uses 8X speed. (0.8 Volts) It is a Budget graphics card, and does not have the graphics 'power' needed for the games you stated. (If memory serves it has 16 Stream Processors)
There is no 'miracle' program, or tweaking of settings, that will allow you to run the above stated games at a decent capability. Even at low settings for the games.
I would suggest an ATI HD Radeon 3850 at least. HOWEVER, other things come into play.
You need a 400 Watt power supply that has 30 Amps on the 12 volt power rail. The power supply must have a 2x4 power cable. (Example:
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#eps4plus4 ) OR, enough 4-pin Molex power cables that are unused to put in a 2x4 power cable adapter.
Your processor has have the processing power needed also, or you will have a 'bottleneck' of graphics information.
A graphics card has it's own processor. (GPU. Graphics Processing Unit) It also has it's own Ram Memory. (Graphics ram memory) However if the processor is too slow, the graphics information cannot be processed from the processor to the game program, and vice-versa, in a speedily fashion.
Click start and then all programs Then click on accessories and then system tools Run both the disc cleanup and deframenter Make sure to empty the recycle bin after the clean up If that does not help then you may want to upgrade your RAM or video card
well if your trying to game on a pc the 5500 isnt quite sufficient. If you dont know about nvidia you are about 5 generations back of days cards. So the card wont handle any of todays games. If your really trying to game i suggest you build/buy a new rig. But as far as playing videos, quality should be good. Try goin to nvidia.com and downloading the newest drivers.
i play WoW and i recommend you get at least 2Gig memory and with that card you need to run the game in low settings. The 5200 series card is not high end gaming card. If you have pci express slot i highly recommend a 9600GT. But first upgrade to 2Gig RAM
Upgrading video cards will definitely increase in performance. You asked whether you should upgrade your entire PC or just the card and that really depends on the hardware you are running. If all of your hardware just barely meets the requirements than upgrading the videocard WILL give you a noticeable improvement but obviously it will not be as good as getting a better CPU and more RAM as well as a new card.
A good measure of a cards performance is based on the series of cards it is from. Your Geforce is from the 6000 series of Nvidia cards, they have 7000, 8000, and even 9000 series cards atm.
I would recommend something like an XFX Geforce 9800 GTX+ series card with 512MB of onboard memory, or any other competing card in the 200$ price range. This will definitely give you an increase in performance, and is a very popular card.
Get more RAM - it will definitely help - also, fdouble-check the rest of your computer specs to make sure they are all compatible with that Graphics Card
