Intertherm propane furnace makes popping sound when running

Furnace is in a mobile home and has not been run for over a year. it lights off ok , but starts popping after 2 to 3 minutes. the fuel company filled the propane tank and replaced two gas regulators that were external to the furnace. the furnace continues to run and makes the popping sound every couple of minutes. the main burner flame appears to be yellow in color.can anyone give us advice on this problem? thanks jim

to dlmcmasters, thank you for the advice, had local licensed hvac repair guy check this furnace out. problem was the high temp limit switch intermittently opening up the circuit then almost instantly closing.this caused the burner to shut down then immediately relight.since this furnace has a two stage gas valve,(low fire on start up then high fire on run mode). with the high limit cycling on off on in less than two seconds the relight was rough, always in high fire, causing the popping noise.replacement high temp fixed the problem. hope this feedback may help others jim40scot

It sounds like you have a possible hole in the heat exchanger. Turn the heat off and turn the fan on. If you feel any air coming back out of the heat exchanger, you have a hole. A yellow flame is not a good sign. I would even consider having a service professional come out and take a look.

I HAVE A MODEL UFG-101AG-4 SERIAL # 800H2 INTERTHERM FORCED AIR FURNACE FOR MOBILE HOME OR TRAVEL TRAILER THAT I DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH IT?

OK. Let me answer you, even if honestly I don't have any idea about an INTERTHERM FORCED AIR FURNACE. To get any answer, to a problem, you should describe your problem. Just telling that you don't know what's wrong with it is simply no enough information, even for a star expert in your INTERTHERM FORCED AIR FURNACE.

Intertherm gas furnace in mobile home..igniter comes on then nothing tries to fire byrners but nothing

by igniter I assume you mean the thermocoupler. are you turning the control button to run after you light the pilot light? Normally when those furnaces quit it is the thermocoupler that has quit. Get a new one and leave it in the furnace compartment as a spare.

What is an A-Coil Cage on a Intertherm Electric Mobile Home Furnace?

Hello,
An "a-coil" is a cooling coil that looks like the letter "a". The cage is simply the box or sheet metal case built around the a-coil. It is most likely located inside of the furnace itself and if you remove the furnace door you should be able to easily locate the coil- it has 2 copper pipe tubes running from the coil and down or up through the ceiling or the wall.
Hope this helps, James

Weak flame in intertherm furnace

Ok, so we can rule out the ignitor. (standing pilot systems can develop problems that will cause such symptoms.)

Check the gas pressure, make sure you are getting 11 to 14 PSI.

You need that after the regulator all the way to the manifold.

Also check for cracks in the heat exchanger, causing the wind from the blower to distort the flame pattern enough to cause improper contact with the flame sensor.

Make sure the burners and flame channels are clean of rust, and dibri build up, allowing the flame to properly contact the sensors.

I have a mobile home furnace Intertherm #1378. The pilot light is on, but the burner will not light. The thermostat clicks on and everything seems to be running properly, but there is no flame. Last year...

First make sure that the gas valve is in the on position. There is a spring load diaphragm that will stick when not in use over time, When the t-stat clicks on for heat tap the valve with a hammer LIGHTLY. If it doesn't come on replace the valve.
