SOURCE: I have a 1967-706 Farmall IH splitting a transmission

you must remove the plate from the bottom of the transmission. Look for a shaft that goes from the rear through a gear. Remove snap ring from in front of gear and it should roll apart then. On reassembly be sure to change gasket and all o rings to prevent hydraulic suction leaks

SOURCE: My 706 Farmall does not

linkage train has slack (worn) or spring could be broken that pulls the linkage into the slot and holds it there. for that you have to remove the floor plate then the trans cover. not too bad.

Iam working on a 706 case IH gas. it hasent ran in many years. i draned all the old gas and rinsed the tank. and gas lines. new plugs points distributer, roter, plug wires. still nothing. i have spark....

carb is probably gummed up from the old gasoline. try squirting some gas into the carb where the air goes in to start it. probably won't keep running but sometimes it can shake something loose like a stuck FlOAT VALVE.
