When changing from fuel to lpg car idles over poorly and u are unable to increase revs by acelarator but on fuel runs okay has full tank lpg. any ideas?
You probably have a problem with the stepper motor (if applicable - I don't know the exadct system you use) The stepper motor converts the gas pedal movement to more or less gas in the distributor by moving a piston up or down just the ay you press / release the pedal. If the machine idles OK, but won't increase revs that ist very likely the case. Have it checked out by replacing it - isn't too costly.

Larry . what type of fuel system are you running? sounds like it has a mixture supply problem at idle after coming off revs. the solution is different depending on fuel type and system ie: LPG, Petrol, Carby, Injection
you could have a fuel filter plugging, poor fuel pressure, check with a gauge and check volume as well.check the maf/map sensor, you may have to have the exhaust system checked for being plugged by having an exhaust backpressure test done.if the engine is not over reving when driving then this eliminates the transmission.i`m assuming this car runs okay from idle to 30 mph when the problem starts.when was the last time a tune-up was done as well.
Hi there tippo, It chould be the needle valves but i am more leaning towards the air/ fuel/ LPG not being at the correct ratio. If you are unfamilliar with running both gasses at the same time you may want to take it in to be adjusted. Also you can ask them what they are doing, a lot of shops out ther would be willing to show you how to make the adjustments. Mine would. I hope this helps you please leave feedback if i was of some assistance.
Hi:
A couple easy things to check out are your fuel filter and air filter. The fuel filter can be very restricted and cause a similar problem. , The air filter, not so much.
Plugged up catalytic converters can cause a loss of power too.! Hope you find your problem..
could be fuel starvation when changing over from one fuel to another.end of one/start of another, especially when engine cold and running on richer mixture .answer is only change when car is at normall temp.sorry but this is in the gas convertion manual....
I have a 1999 A6 2.8, and my car was doing the same thing. However, after spending about a $1,000.00 I took it to another dealership. they replaced the fuel filter, it was dirty from putting cheap 91 gas in the car. Once it was replaced the car ran like new. I had to replace it around 80,000 miles. Hope this helps
How close to the exhaust is the supply line as the lpg supply line should be cold until it gets into the regulator not warm.Is the supply line heat shielded as it enters the engine bay or getting a full dose of exhaust heat?Is it the vapor injection gas system or the old style. What regulator and system are you using?OMVL ?sprint gas or other cheaper variants? It really sounds like a fuel delivery issue as you are not getting the volume of gas required at higher speeds.Commodore engines have issues with thier water system having air bubbles that cause air locks in the regulators by the time youve jumped out of the car to check for freezing it appears to be fine. You may have restrictions in the lpgas filters/locks.The water hoses,2,should be hot so hot you cannot leave your hand on them and if not freezing of the reg once again becomes the issue. Also the water hoses must be fitted in such a way that the top hose is suction and the bottom hose forces water into the reg, this is done to assist in eliminating potential air lock problems. To sum up your symptoms are consistant with poor water ciculation.
ya these motors need tons of fuel pressure so if you have a pressure tester test the fuel pressure prior to the fuel filter and see if it is atleast 25 psi if not replace pump with new or rebuild all the luck to you with current project
