SOURCE: PHYSICAL IP ADDRESS NOT RECOGNIZED, IT JUST SAYS FF-FF-FF-FF, AND DOESN´T RECOGNIZED THE IP ADDFRESS FOR THE INTERNET CONNECTION?? PLEASE HELP, DO I HAVE TO FORMAT MY COMPUTER OR I JUST NEED A DRIVER?

Hi,
Update the O/S first
Check the connection is DHCP
control panel,network connections, right click your connection to the internet, properties,
TCP/IP VER4, highlight this in grey, click properties,
should be set to
( obtain I.P. automatically ) tick this box.save it.
Reboot the system.

SOURCE: CD drive will not read my discs and does not recognize cd in drive.

sounds like the cd drive in your laptop need replacing. if it is under warranty contact dell about replacement. If unit is not under warranty then take it to a computer repair shop and have them replace it for you. Unless you are a computer repair person and can replace it yourself

Verify that all previous data, partitions, format version etc.... has been removed. If this is a used hard drive it would be advised to erase and clean the drive before use. This can be done with various disk tools or boot disks and/or various open source software products. This is usually a user preferance when using tools of this type. Once the disk has been cleaned and initialized it should be ready for the Windows installation.
If after cleaned and initialized the disk does not show under windows the it could be no good!!!

Rerun you XP set up and try doing a upgrade instead of a install this will allow you to maintain your data and also put the new drivers for *********** board into the BIOS
