Poor acceleration i have a 94 talon i have replaced head gasket and turbo but when you need power to pass or go up hill it dies, works good at low speed seems when the turbo is needed for boost is when it starts to miss,slack of the accelerator and it speeds up fine. have replaced plugs wires etc.

There is a huge chance that you have a busted head gasket! You most likely have water on your dipstick when you pull it out to check your oil. If this is the problem, it needs to be fixed soon because it can cause MAJOR engine damage really quick. Take it to a mechanic as soon as possible and have it looked at......

seem issue with the injector (fuel) pump.

shake at idle means u have a cylinder misfire or low commpression, here are causes of misfires most commonly seen.

The most common misfire causes on the cars I've worked on have been:

1. Spark plugs
2. Spark plug wires
3. Ignition coil
4. Fuel injector
5. Wiring to fuel injector
6. Timing Belt
7. Vacuum leak or stuck open EGR
8. Contaminated fuel or bad fuel pump
9. Weak compression
10. Blown head gasket

most engines from 91 to 94 talon will work must be a 2.0 4g63 and dose not matter if its a turbo the heads are the same

clean out the plug ins with electrical cleaner...sounds like something isnt plugged in or got cut or grounded out when u took all that stuff apart

I had a turbo renault , I cranked the wastegate down to increase boost and had same problem.
There was a sensor that cut the ignition if the turbo was over pressuring. Was a pretty violent jerking, felt like it was tearing the engine mounts out.

Check for head gasket problem, what do the fliuds look like?

Sounds like A MAP sensor or a bad fuel Pump. Good Luck

1992 4 runner 4 x 4, I think it is already passed 150,000 miles.the pistons and rings are lose and are leaking, the pressure probably low, try to use some oil treatment, I used Market America special oil treatment and got a very good result. you can set to 19 degrees and add some of those treatment see the result, this is cheapest way, just try it, because I can not test drive your car and check the engine pressure.
