SOURCE: Linksys WRT54G wireless router not compatible with Aztech modem?

Darvin, gotta love your ISP. Never fear......

if it isn't too much of a problem (knowing you have wireless setup done already), then do a factory reset on your router ** remember to copy the WEP Key if you have, or recall the PASS PHRASE so you won't have to reset all wireless devices ** Reset is located on back, you need a ball point pen to reach the reset switch.

Reset process: unplug, take ballpoint pen & insert into reset switch & plug unit back in. Sometimes tricky, but you should notice green light goes to yellow/orange upon resetting.

RESET or NOT - you want the Linksys set for ::

Connection Type - AUTOMATIC (for automatic discovery)
Router IP Address - 192.168.2.1

DCHP - ON, Addresses - 192.168.2.100 and allow 5-50 users
(for security, assign the number of DESKTOP + WIRELESS expected users +1, this way you don't get overrun without knowlege)

Take the cable from Aztech ETHERNET OUT to WAN on Linksys. (usually BLUE) (??) not 100% sure as I have the little silver pocket edition of the same Router. - power cycle (turn both DSL modem & Linksys off for 20 seconds. turn on DSL Modem, wait till it's about as ready as possible, turn on Linksys, should only take 20-30 seconds to power up & recognize.

VERIFY SETTINGS: access router - 192.168.2.1, goto STATUS. you should see IP Addressing, SubNet, DNS1 & DNS2 settings. If you do not, then you have no internet connection.

ALTERNATIVE,

Setup Linksys Router with COnnection Type: PPoE, you will need your ISP assigned ID & Password. Follow all other instructions properly.

SOURCE: Cannot connect Belkin F5D8233-4 Router to Mac Laptop

Hi, I had the same problem with my MBP and the best solution I found was:
Dissable the Wlan security and use Mac Address control only for the wireless. This will keep your network secure anyway and you can connect normally.

The only inconvenience is that when you want to connect other computers to your wireless you have to enter its MAC address on the list.

Remember to set the list as Allow.

SOURCE: dlink DIR-615 wireless connection problem

hi. with regards to your concern. there is a possibility that the wireless network adapter driver is corrupted.. try uninstalling the driver for your wireless adapter and reinstall again. once setup is done, view the available wireless connection and connect.. it will ask u the password if there is..then it will connect. if this solution dont work.. try to check your wireless settings, maybe there is a problem on the settings..

How do I intall the dlink router if I dont have a cd drive My computer is a dell inspirion and is runs on vista

hello, here is what you need to do: if have a pc connected to high speed modem directly you will unplug the network cable from the back of your pc/laptop and that end will then go in to "WAN" port on the new dlink router.
second, you take another wire and plug one end in your pc/laptop and the other end in one of the 4 lan ports in the back of your new dlink.
restart everything in the following order at 30 seconds duration:- first the cable/DSl modem, then dlink, then your pc/laptop.
once everything is up open up internet browser and test connectivity.
at this point you should have internet up and running but you need to configure you router and wireless etc.
from your browser in address bar type in http://192.168.0.1 and hit enter that will bring you router login prompt : default user name is "admin" and password is left blank and hit enter, you are now in router to configure options as you please.
I would strongly recommend changing your router password administration and if you plan on using wireless, setup SSID, encryption, network key on wireless. NEVER LEAVE IT OPEN.

Hope this helps

Wireless router

Yes, you can use wireless router with the modem. I guess the actiontech DSl router that you have is also Wireless one. If so, you can use just the DSL router for wireless connection. If you really want to use Dlink router with it, Connect the ( WAN port ) of the Dlink router to the ( LAN Port ) of the Action tech modem [ modem(LAN)-->Dlink(WAN) ]. Once you do this connection, better to do power cycle ( unplug the pwr to the dlink first, then, disconnect the pwr to action tech - wait 1min and plug the pwr to modem, wait for DSL light to be solid , then put the pwr back to dlink ). Make sure DSL light on the modem solid, internet light & WLAN light on the link glowing.
- Make Hardwire connection between the computer to Dlink and check the ip address on the computer whether it acquires the ip address from Dlink and then check the internet connection on the computer, it has to work. if computer not getting ip from dlink, try restarting computer.
- If hardwire connection on the dlink works fine and check the wireless connection.

For wireless configuration or assistance you may check this link:

please feel free to ask, if you have any more assistance.
