Screen on presario 2500 is black blank and won't change

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Shuttle SG41J1 Plus V2 won't POST

Hi Sam,
Don't ever get frustrated by a Shuttle, ahum, they're marvelous, but just "a little" strange behavior ... they are very sensible to the cell-battery; if the voltage drops below 1 volt... i have been ripping my hair out in the beginning of my Shuttle period... as said they just don't boot... get a multimeter, carefully get the cell battery (ya know, the little round zilver one on the motherboard, check the voltage and replace if V < 2V. If the cell battery has not taken out completely... we always take the cell bat. out to avoid discharging when keeping it in the box for a longer time.
So first check if there is one in at all...
!!! whatever you do inside your baby, get yourself grounded !!! a static voltage can destroy the little bagger...
--- Then you should check the jumper of bios reset. Could be it is in position "I" this should be changed to cover the "0", its very clearly described in the manual you can download @ http://us.shuttle.com/barebone/Models/SG41J1_PLUS.html

download the manual and try to read it careful where the bios is described.
in 2nd stage it could be the memory, which is not inserted correctly, meaning not seated well. ( no offense, but it happened to me too... ;-)
Shuttles are different to handle...
- Also check, what speed the DDR stiks are... and also, if they are supported by the board.
- Check if you per error got some ECC mem stiks, they would not run. I remember going through such a case too...
as said, check if the compatibily book says if the mem-sticks you own are compatible.
- Then check if some wire is loose from the mobo to the disc, DVD evtl.
-- Check the wires from the front contacts to the mobo... maybe loose contact...
--- Last i would set the BIOS reset jumper to empty BIOS position , leave it there for approx a minute or 10... and if that does not help, check if maybe a addon VGA card inside is not well seated. or some other addoncard.

and lastly there can be some problems in the hdd itself, cables to discs, short-circuit on the underside of mobo or at the outerlast the thingy is broken and yore doomed to try to get your bucks back...
Hope i could be of any help mon ami
If not, just come back and write what happened, all volks here are glad to help,

My Shuttle AV49P motherboard would not bootup. The system is powering up, & the drives are spinning up. There are no beeps & no infor on the monitor. Monitor is working, AGP Graphic card is...

Hi,
You should get one bios beep. You seemed to have tried everything except a different hard drive. Check the capacitors to see if they busted open. Other than that the motherboard could be fried. Hank

My Shuttle K45 recently stopped working (fan runs,no power light)

there may just be a short in your board of a device connected to your board as u said the previous problem was solved by video card as it was because the video card was faulty which was giving the problem!!
so before going in for a new board try to check each and every part separately u might find the faulty part or then it may be the boards problem!!
because if without checking all the devices if u get a new board and then u find the problem still and because of just some device then it will be a waste!!!
so try this, reply and rate me!

Windows stops booting with new motherboard

there are probably driver issues, i am guessing that the motherboard is the only change. you can use your windows install CD to boot into windows then install the motherboard drivers from there.
