Tone volume GE mod# JT915bof8bb.....Ser# SL603493Q built in wall oven.
Page 7 of the owner manual describes how to adjust the tone volume. I could not change the volume. GE tried to repair this under warranty but could not and told me that the tone volume paragraph on page 7 was a misprint. I find this hard to believe. If true, I would like a good contact number at GE.
Thanks,
Don

I hope I am correct in thinking that you do not have the owner's manual for your oven. If you do have the manual, failure codes are probably listed in the manual, with an explanation of what they mean.
According to information on the list of GE Wall Oven Error Codes provided by Sears PartsDirect: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/wall-oven-repair/error-codes/ge-wall-oven-error-codes.html
F1 means:
Stuck or defective button on the key panel
The check / repair is:
(Quote)
Push the Clear/OFF pad. Shut off power to the oven, disconnect the flat ribbon connector from the electronic oven control board and then restore electrical power. If the code reappears after about 30 seconds, replace the electronic oven control board. If the code doesn't reappear, replace the key panel.
(End quote)
some units can be adjusted for louder tone volumes, depending on your model you can check the user manual supplied with the oven to find out if volume increase is possible or go to maytags web site and you can download a user manual or ask them online if its also possible to do this with your model
From the handbook:--
Press the MINUS button to listen to the first tone.
Release the MINUS button and press it again to listen to the second tone.
Releasing the MINUS button after the tone has sounded will automatically select that tone.
For the 720ef , this is what you need to do. There are five buttons on the clock panel and from left to right they are:- Minute Minder, Cook time, Ready Time, Plus and Minus. TO SET THE TIME OF DAY Press the Cook Time button and the Ready Time button simultaneously. Use the Plus and Minus buttons to set the time.(24hr clock). TO SELECT AN ALARM TONE. Press the Minus button to listen to the first tone. Release it and press it again to listen to the second tone etc (3 tones) Releasing the button after the tone has sounded will automatically set that tone. SETTING THE MINUTE MINDER. Press the Minuter Minder button and either the Plus or Minus buttons simultaneously to set the time. You can cancel the timer at any time by setting it back to 00.00 by using the Minus button. After setting, the display will revert to the time of day, but by pressing the Minute Minder button again, the display will show the remaining time
Choose your location from the link. A local service number is displayed. Get a repairman to visit the place, and then describe the problem; in this case the broken hinge. This should certainly work out.good luck. Please add your comments and also do tell me if you are located outside US.
