Cold Air Penetrating from around & thru GE Zoneline 2100 Unit

Any suggestions to prevent the cold air from coming thru the unit itself & around the unit? We have already used insulation around & below the unit, however the cold air is still coming thru the unit. Therefore the heat is continuously coming on & staying on throughout the night.

Is the baffle switch (it's on the left side of my zoneline3100 pushed down or up to close off the cold air? It feels about the same (cold air emitting) whether it's up or down. btw, does it interfere with operation to put insulation on bottom of unit where the cold air is coming from?.

There is a baffle/damper that allows outside fresh air to flow through the unit. This is only supposed to be open in cooling mode when the outside temp is moderate, or whenever you want just fresh air and fan operation.

Find the lever that controlls the baffle.

Some units have a switch in the control panel for this.

Ge zoneline az55ho7d when i tunr on it comes on fine, but after 10 minutes the fan in back side stop running and front fan keep running so throw only air no cold air. so what is wrong . is it motor for the...

Could be lack of service. The unit depends on a clean evaporator and condenser coil. The "other" motor you hear is the compressor starting or stopping probably due to either a high pressure or low pressure switch, or thermal cut-out.

Compressor keep running in off position

you could have a relay or contactor inside the unit welded closed, therefore compressor will keep operating when unit is off. replace compressor contactor.

Problem with GE Zoneline 5200 model

Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!

GE Zoneline 2100 heater/ac won't heat/doesn't shut off

well, it's been almost 4 years since this was posted, but it's the selector knob. these things are HORRIBLY designed (the selector knobs) very easy to break if someone pushes it to the side too hard.

ASSUMING when you cleaned it, you didn't get the controller knob wet, which could cause heat and ac to come on at the same time. If after a few days, it's still the same, it's the selector. I've replaced a million of them (ok, not really a million, but, a lot.)
