I have just replaced the radiator and water expansion bottle... but still the 'low water warning light' comes on when i am driving and when i stop, to check, the expansion bottle is very low on water if not empty.
Ill add some of the trouble shooting on that.. please check the radiator cap rubber seal if their is a crack in it and replace it .. please check also the hose going to the expansion tank it might be inverted . i am thinking that it is plunged on the vent tube that is why when ever gets hot it pushes the water out from the expansion tank
Losing water can be;
1. external leaks around the engine like freeze plugs, cut/broken old hoses, heater core leaking, or water pump leaking to name a few. Most external leaks will smell like the coolant. Look around the engine and on the ground for leaks and coolant.
2. could be an internal leak like a intake manifold gasket or even a head gasket or less likely an engine crack. Have a coolant system pressure check run on the system to see if the system will hold pressure. If the system does not hold pressure and the coolant is not leaking around or outside the engine, it is most likely an internal leak such as a head gasket which is common on many cars. Some auto part stores will rent the coolant system pressure test kit to run this test.

If you locate the water expansion tank (front of the bonnet, opened, with the pressure-cap to top-up if necessary) - check that there's sufficient coolant in there (check whilst the engine is cold).
If so, you may be suffering the same problem as a lot of RX8 owners, with a dodgy coolant level sensor in the tank. One way to confirm this is to remove the connector to the tank - on the left-hand side of the tank as you look from the front (not the air-conditioning connector, immediately to the left of it, attached to an aluminium billet). Ensure the (now free-hanging) connector from the wiring loom is safely stowed and give it a test drive. If you're satisified that the warning goes away then you know that the level sensor in the tank is faulty (and therefore the warning light is spurious). Unfortunately, that's a pricey item to replace (dealer price, UK, in the region of £200).
Remember, leaving the coolant sensor unplugged to avoid the spurious warnings would mean that a genuine problem that resulted in (catestrophic) loss of coolant would then go undetected, until too late. So do this at your peril.

Most traction systems have sensors at each wheel. These detect wheel spin (can be a loose connection, broken wire, dirty sensor) The ABS won't work for the same reason but your brakes will work fine without ABS. (as long as brake fluid is full) The expansion bottle should have some coolant in it as well as the radiator. My experience is the bottle has a low level sensor that can get dirty ( If it was full) But you seem to be losing coolant? Is the lid on tight? Do you ever see coolant on the ground or in the engine bay? Sorry that's a mystery from here. Hopefully it is not disappearing in your engine. That would be a bad head gasket!

You have a blown head gasket. It is expensive to repair. I recommend that first you try the products available at Autozone or Advanced Auto. There are several that will clog the blow-out with aluminum powder and stop the coolant from entering the combustion chamber and stop the combustion gasses from entering your coolant system. It is about $15-$20 for these products and I have had success with them several times.
