Right click on my computer, then properties then hardware tab then choose device manager and then click the last item in the tree ( Universal Serial Bus Controller) make sure that they are all have drivers installed and if not it should hvae a yellow triangle on it indicating that it does not have a driver installed. to install drivers right click on any of them then select update driver ( having the motherboard drivers Cd in the cd-reader )

I cannot get a SanDisk flashdrive to go into either of the USB ports on my new desktop computer. I am using the USB ports located on top of the computer

To test the functionality of the usb ports in front of the computer
1. Insert another flash drive or another usb device like a usb mouse on front the computer 2. If it detect the usb device that means 2 things flash drive might be bad and the front usb port is working 3. If it does not, It means that the flash drive might be bad or the usb port is not connected to the front panel of the computer 4. Try also inserting the flash drive at the back of the computer see if the usb drive is detected in all ports 5. Check the BIOS for any usb port associativity

My Toshiba Laptop monitor just died and I want to transfer the data (windows xp) from the hard drive onto my Aspire AM1610 desktop (windows vista). How can I do so?

Hello,

1. Remove the hard drive from Toshiba (most probably its a 3.5" one)
2. Borrow or purchase an external box which supports IDE 3.5" drives
3. Connect to USB port of Aspire
4. From under "My Computer" you should be able to see some contents of the drive
5. To access all contents, you need to change owner ship under folder options.

Good luck

Hi there I just brought a mikomi gp-311a 4 port usb hub for my aspire 5315 laptop (1gb). After root hub installed sucessfully,i added my other usb devices into the hub and it is not regonising any of my...

The problem is that some usb hub devices are not powered enough to recognise peripherals, i always recommend buying a mains powered usb hub as the pc's supply can find it difficult to power the usb ports enough as well as powering other components in your pc.

Keeps telling me to inset a disck in an extrnal hard drive

Not recognized as hdd. Format may be wrong or the hard drive needs unplugged and plugged back into a rear usb port not the front.
