SOURCE: replacing bad camshaft position sensor

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, then the serpentine belt and water pump pulley.
  3. Disconnect sensor wiring connector and remove sensor retaining bolt.
  4. Twist and pull sensor to remove.
Reverse procedure to install and prior to installing new sensor, lubricate sensor O-ring.

It is located under the water pump. Make sure when you remove the sensor that you rotate the crank shaft and look in the hole to make sure the pick up magnet is still in there. Sometimes they come loose and cause a no start or long crank. You will need to have the code cleared still.

SOURCE: Missing, stalling Pontiac Sunfire

The OBD II code for P0400 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction.
I'm sure the only thing you have left is you may have to replace the EGR valve or check for any leak from the vaccum lines going to to EGR valve.

SOURCE: on a 04 camry with 2.4 ltr engine, can I replace

I think the terms "Throttle Positon Sensor", TPS and "Throttle Body" can be misleading at least in regards to the 04 Camry.

My 04 Camry gave a diagnostic reading of P2121 for my problem "Throttle PEDAL position switch D circuit". However, we changed out the complete Throttle Body/TPS (Toyota Part #22030-0H020) that did NOT fix problem.

The 04 Camry TPS Electronic Module "Throttle Positon Sensor" is factory assembled and riveted to the side of the throttle body. The only way to service/inspect it would be to cut off or drill out the rivets. Not sure you could open the darn thing if you got it off, but that seems to be the only way Toyota sells them!!

Hopefully a new Throttle PEDAL Position Sensor (Toyota Part # 78010-33010 PEDAL ASSY, ACC)
will fix it. This is located under the dash near the accelerator pedal.

So, now I would recommend FIRST to replace the "Throttle PEDAL Positon Sensor" (it is much, much cheaper) and then the Throttle Body/TPS assembly!! Unless of course, you get a diagnostic code as you did for "faulty throttle body!!

2008 Pontiac G6 3.5, ECM 2009 from a 2008. I changed the ECM, everything is good except really high idle and I tap on pedal and it shoots to 5,000 rpm. Why?

Question edited for clarity and typos. Not sure what you mean by "ECM 2009 from a 2008" though.

There will always be a learning period when you put in a new ECM. First clean the Throttle Body and MAF.

Then you may need to relearn the Throttle Position Sensor.

You can Google all this stuff.

Where is the throttle position sensor on my 2008 Pontiac Grand Prx. 3800?

inside the throttle body , an it has two .
Throttle Body Assembly
The throttle assembly contains the following components:
• The throttle blade
• The throttle actuator motor
• The throttle position (TP) sensor 1 and 2
• The throttle actuator control (TAC) module
The throttle body functions similar to a conventional throttle body with the following exceptions:
• There is no longer an idle air control (IAC) motor and associated air passages.
• An electric motor opens and closes the throttle valve.
• The TAC module is located within the throttle body assembly.
• The throttle blade is spring loaded in both directions and the default position is slightly open.
• There are 2 individual TP sensors within the throttle body assembly.
The TP sensors are used to determine the throttle plate angle. The TP sensors provide the powertrain control module (PCM) with a signal voltage proportional to throttle plate movement. Both TP sensor signal voltages are low at closed throttle and increase as the throttle opens.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

How do I change a throttle position sensor on a 2007 Pontiac G5 4 cyl.?

If drive by wire throttle, integrated into throttle body. You would have to replace throttle body. Was there a trouble code? If so, can you post the code? You need to have this properly diagnosed. I don't doubt your ability, but, tps not serviceable.

2008 trailblazer ls throttles body sensor

For the I6 engine, there is a Throttle Body Position Sensor, (TPS) attached to the actual throttle body. This cannot be removed from the throttle body itself. You need to buy the whole throttle body which includes the TPS. Just did this myself, one of the chain stores offers lifetime warranty by the way. It's very easy, turn off all HVAC inside the cab, then disconnect the battery first, very important step. Take the top resonator off, unhook the black ducting going to the air cleaner box and throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connector on top of the throttle body. Now it's just 4 easy bolts for the entire throttle body to come off. You CAN reuse the old hard plastic O-ring, no need to get another one unless it's damaged.

What does a lighting bolt symbol on a 2008 Dodge avenger means

A:) TPS, ( throttle body position sensor). Try cleaning the throttle body OFF the vehicle. B:) If it wont crank; try the crankshaft position sensor. If it is bad; replace it and clean throttle body. Most will tell you that a sensor is either good, or its not. I can tell you from experience that a crank sensor failing CAN be intermittent, as mine would shut off in traffic. Id put it in neutral, start it back up, and it would go away for awhile. Then one morning aroud 5 a.m. she left me sitting on the side of the road out in BFE and I missed work and had her towed.
