My sidekick 2 camera keeps telling me that"your device is low on memory try restarting your device before taking another picture" I can't see anything tho... The camera screen just becomes blank.. Please help!!!
There is a hardware problem with some SK2's that involve the top bumper and a brownish ribbon cable under 2 tabs. here's the hiptop forum (the manufacturer) where the problem is discussed,a nd the solution is copied and pasted below. http://www.hiptop.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22867&highlight= the problem is that the plastic clips that hold part of the top rubber bumper push on a cable inside the unit. if you take off the top rubberized bumper you will see a orangeish yellow ribbon cable. this is whats getting hit. here are some CRUDE pics i just drew up just now. no laughing! labels these two show what happens after pressure is applied to the area around the sim slot. I found that if you take off the bumper and LIGHTLY massage the side of the cable in with a paperclip (CAREFULLY) and then try the camera untill it works again. then to prevent this from happening again... I cut the clips that go into those holes. no clips.. no issue. ive done this for my freinds and they love me now.. they call it the clip snip. Ive fixed 7.. no 8 cameras so far this way. no where near a software issue. I cannot recomend that YOU sticka paperclip inside the unit unless you know what youa re doing. I can only recomend that you try removing the top bumper and waiting to see if the camera ever comes back. if it dies then snip the clips that go into the hole above the camera cable. let me know if this makes sense to you or not so i can edit.
Your on the right track by going to the pin holes, but do this to save clips on bumper. Remove the bumper and just clip the outer 2 left clips just right of your sims card. Then remove the 2 screws and take off your display. While facing the keypad. I used a plasic covered paper clip to protect your unit and placed it behind the yellowish ribbon and the back wall. Begin massaging the cable toward the keypad wall 2x to 5x gently your choice. Then replace the display and test. If done correctly, your finish. Otherwise repeat.
You need to upgrade your memory .. your system needs more memory to store and take pictures.. Buy a better memory like 512 or 1GB. Don't forget to buy a socket to connect it to your PC (better if you want to store your pictures on your own Computer) The system there can't overcome the need to view and capture pictures from the camera.
