Laptop goes into permanent sleep mode, etc

Laptop screen goes blank - permanent sleep mode. Can't wake it up. CTRL, ALT, DEL does nothing. Touching mouse pad or any key does nothing. Can't switch off obviously so have to resort to holding down On/OFF button and it then shuts down. Sometimes then when I try to turn on again, all the lights come on but nothing happens. It will not boot up except for once in about every 10 tries! Then it runs great until left alone when the 'sleep' cycle starts again. Really frustration. It does not appear to be overheating. Any ideas?

If you can restart it and it starts up fine, then I would go into the power settings and disable sleep mode. Every computer is different on how to wake a sleeping computer, so you could read through your manuals and find out for yours, but I just disable sleep mode on all computers so i dont have to hassle with it.

Pull the battery out and unplug the charger. Turn the laptop over and press the on/off button 3 or 4 times. Turn it over again, re-install battery and power on again while pressing F8. This should take you into safe mode. If It turns on in safe mode, get back with me and I'll lead you through a diagnostics test.

I did the recovery management on a Acer ASPIRE one A0A150 and the recovery failed , computer wrote NTLDR is missing & Press Ctrl+ALT+Del to restart and nothing computer goes back too a blank...

you will need to reinstall your OS.

Black Screen when playing 3D games on ATI Radeon 9550 X1050 Serie

the game resolution is not supported by your monitor....this is the reason your screen goes blank....
by the next time if the screen goes blank, press alt+ctrl+del together and check are you able to see the task manager....
if you can see the task manager, then close the game from that window by selecting end task....
if you cant see the task manager, then press ctrl+alt+del together 2 times and check....
if nothing works, then try by checking with any HD monitors if available with you or with your friends...

are you running vista? this is an ongoing issue with that operating system. my best advise would be to totally disable hibernate and sleep on your computer by changing the power settings.

right click on your desktop
click personalize
go to screen saver
on the lower part, you should have change power settings there
play around with it and disable hibernate and sleep

Monitor goes to sleep and won't wake up

You can google search for an app called NOSLEEP.EXE
It was written by a Symantec employee to keep your screen active regardless of pic settings.
Install and run it. That will verify the issue is with of or monitor
Software is free
