i think it's not neccisarily a problem with your motherboard, i think it is a problem with the drivers or firmware of your motherboard...i would search online for the specific motherboard type and find the drivers...if possible. then try finding the firmware as well. hope this helps.

If sure that you install with the driver of your audio built-in device, then it might have a sound already. How about to check your Audio setting in your BIOS Setup, see it there is ENABLE and run the Windows XP normally. If it is still not working then check in your Device Manager to see if your Sound Device is working. Good luck!

DRIVER: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device. The PCI sound card is the device. Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S. Did you install the audio drivers for that sound card, and F-I-R-S-T? Post back in a Comment. Regards, joecoolvette
yes sir! i already installed the pci audio device properly but still no sounds! pls. help... i also update my bios, and format my pc still no sounds.
Do any of the PCI slots work? Have you tried them all? Checking if you have a bad PCI slot, or a bad PCI sound card. I would also like to know the procedure you used to download, AND install; plus what Operating System are you using? Audio driver from this page? Download tab > Sound > Realtek High Def audio driver, version R2.25? If so download and install the chipset drivers. When a motherboard is brought out, all the drivers are not up to date. Usually a few weeks or more until they are ready.

2 cents. You should hear sound if card, slot, driver... all are OK. Test with headphones, and take a quick at all volume controls. Good luck guys.

as_repollo, A) You still haven't stated how you are downloading, AND installing the driver/s. B) You didn't state if you downloaded the chipset drivers. (Motherboard chipset. The Southbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, handles the slower capabilities of a computer. Audio is one of the slower capabilities.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?titl... C) IF, the drivers are being installed correctly, AND the PCI slots are noted to be good, then the PCI sound card is bad.
Although audio is handled by the Southbridge chip, it is the PCI slots I was wanting to make reference to. The Southbridge chip handles the PCI bus also.
@joecoolvette i download the chipset drivers into ecs website after downloaded it ectract the zip file and install the driver . but still no output sounds. what do ido now! pls. help me....
Do you have a PCI sound card? ECS chipset drivers will not have a driver for your sound card. Make sure the speakers are plugged in to the sound card and not the mainboard sound output.
