DRIVER: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device. The PCI sound card is the device. Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S. Did you install the audio drivers for that sound card, and F-I-R-S-T? Post back in a Comment. Do any of the PCI slots work? Have you tried them all? Checking if you have a bad PCI slot, or a bad PCI sound card. I would also like to know the procedure you used to download, AND install; plus what Operating System are you using? Audio driver from this page? Download tab > Sound > Realtek High Def audio driver, version R2.25? If so download and install the chipset drivers. When a motherboard is brought out, all the drivers are not up to date.
