Hello.
Welcome to Fixya Community.
You need to restore it with iTunes, but you can't restore an iPod While its Locked With a password, well in order to Force it to Restore you shud put it on Recovery Mode.
Hold down the power and home keys down for about 10 seconds each while
plugged into iTunes. When the screen goes black, release the power
button but keep holding the home key until itunes says. We have
detected an itouch in recovery mode.
From there you can restore as normal via iTunes.
and that will reset you configuration including Your Password.
Thank you For Using Fixya.
Good Luck.
SOURCE: i FORGOT MY iPOD TOUCH PASS CODE. HOW DO I DISABLE
There is only one way to disable it besides actually knowing the password. You have to hook the unit up to itunes and restore the unit. You will lose all the data on the itouch, but if you have all your data in itunes there is nothing to worry about. If you have any further questions feel free to contact www.wiredextreme.com.
SOURCE: i forgot my pass code. how can i reset my ipod
If your iPod touch is password locked, the only way to get past it is to force the unit into restore mode by doing the following:
1. Plug the iPod touch in to your computer.
2. Hold the sleep/wake button and the menu button down at the same time. Keep them both pressed until you see the 'restore' screen (an iPod cable and an iTunes disc symbol) on the iPod touch. Release the buttons.
3. iTunes should now display the iPod touch, along with a message that the iPod touch is in recovery mode. Click the RESTORE button in iTunes to restore the iPod touch.
Please note that doing this will erase the contents of the iPod touch -- that's how the system is designed to work: a passcode lock is meant to protect the data on the iPod.
^This works too, but if you have important data on it you can hold down the on/off button and the square button until it goes off , and then press the square button to get it to turn back on. I had to do it too :(

good luck....
