try hard resetMaster reset using hardware buttons: HTC Wildfire SVERSION 4 Created on: 15-Aug-2011 09:21 by tmo_brian- Last Modified: 07-Mar-2012 16:29 by tmo_josh_m
To perform a hard reset using the hardware keys, follow these steps:
Note: A hard reset restores the original factory settings and erases content, including downloaded ringtones, images, programs, and contacts stored in the internal memory. This feature allows for resetting of sound profiles, display settings, and phone or memory card settings. However, if you want to try resetting some factory settings without losing any data, then clear system cache before a master reset.
If the phone is plugged into the charger or USB cable, unplug it.
Remove the battery.
Important: Removing the battery is required. Turning off the phone with the Power key does not work, because of the Fast Boot feature.
Re-insert the battery.
Press and hold both the Volume Down key and the Power key. Do not release the volume key, continue on to step 6.
Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen. The following options display:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
CLEAR STORAGE
SIMLOCK
Note: If you are stuck on a screen that says 'HBOOT' and 'FASTBOOT' without any other options to choose from, it means you have pressed the Back button. To get to the regular options, press either the Power key on HBOOT or the Back button.
Press the Volume Down key twice to select CLEAR STORAGE.
Press the Power key to initiate the master reset.
Press the Volume Up key to confirm Delete all user data.
Wait as the device clears the user data then restarts.
remove and reinsert the battery, press and hold the volume down then press and hold power, you should be in hboot mode, press power once, you should see factory reset among the options down, scroll to it and press power. Note: all data will be lost.
