Re: LG ENV VX9900 how do you switch networks??
You are right. This phone is CDMA and hence it does not have a SIM card. These phones are coded or rather "Locked" onto the specific service provider's network. However there are some sites on the net that claim that they can unlock these phones. They have got a money back guarantee as well so you can just give it a go before returning it to your friend. http://www.mobileunlocked.com/LG/enV_VX9900

If you go to the Myverizon online and click Phones&Devices under the support tab, it will lead you to a page where you select the type of phone you have. Once you have done that, the next page should say "Activate Phone" on the left side. Click that and you will get step by step instructions to switch phones, activating the new one.
Verizon's network does not use SIM Cards, only if you have a Blackberry and your going out of the country -would they give you one.
Since their phones are built to pickup CDMA signal, most of the phones don't have a spot for a SIM Card.. Because the phones can't pickup sim card signal..
But your local Verizon Wireless store can hook up both the phones to their system, to do a phonebook transfer for you! Or you can signup online for backup assistant through verizon. Backup assistant is where Verizon saves & copies your contacts onto the website - and then when you hook up a new phone, you use get it now to get backup assistant on the new phone, and it will copy the numbers over for you. If you signup online, it's free.
You can obtain the driver from the music essentials kit cd....you may be able to obtain it from other resources however.....i would suggest a google search for verizon env vx9900 usb driver....also you will want this driver in place before plugging up your phone in order to avoid any other issues that might arise.
