The dryer has power but when you push the start button it just hums and wont start.

your dryer may not be recieving adequate voltage to start.
make sure your dryer is plugged in.
also check the circuit breaker panel to make sure all circuit breakers are in the right position.
check fuse box for blown fuse.
try plugging in something else in the same outlet.
also refrain from using an extension cord.

check and see if you have 220 volts to your dryer using a volt / ohm meter find the cord and remove cover take meter and go across (1 test lead on left and one on right) side of cord there should be 220 volts.check this and get back to me. if no 220v trip breaker back and forth and try again

look under control panel look for a burned spot or burned wires some thing is throwing the breaker under the control panel one of the controls may be bad with this kind of dryer may have to replace controls

You either have something caught in the blower or you have a bad motor. If you unplug the dryer and pull it out. Then remove the rear panel (1/4" hex screws), looking at it from the rear, the blower is on your left. Remove the two screws that hold the blower housing on. You should be able to get your hand in far enough to see if there is something in the blower.
