My LG VX-5400 (Verizon) paired without any problem with my Plantronics Explorer 220 bluetooth headset for a couple of weeks when suddenly it stopped doing so. It displays "device out of range or powered off" each time I try to pair it again even though the headset is fully charged and next to the phone. Any idea how to fix this?

The generic pass key is ( 0000 ) for the explorer 220 from plantronics.

I had lots of trouble too. I thought it was my phone. Well here's what you do. First off remove the device completely from your phone. Turn off the phone and take the battery off so it can re-boot. When the phone is powered back up put your bluetooth in pairing mode and get it back on your phone. It should connect without any problems. Now....here is the trick. When you want to disconnect the device(bluetooth) from your phone don't turn it off on your phone. Shut the actual power off on your bluetooth. The phone will recognize this and disconnect the device. The only thing left on your phone will be the bluetooth icon. Being the icon still on your phone it is still in discovery mode and can overtime use up your battery life searching for a device. This is when you can go to your phone and turn off the bluetooth. On your NV 2 go to your bluetooth menu and just use your left softkeyto turn it off. Now there is no connection whatsoever. And to turn it back on do the opposite. Go to your bluetooth menu and turn on your bluetooth. You will see the bluetooth icon. Now you power up the bluetooth and it will connect as soon as it get the signal. This took me 2 weeks of trial and error and other stuff but I am happy now and I hope this solves any bluetooth problems...

u have to follow certain guidelines to pair the device to your cell phone
first switch on bluetooth on ur cell then while your headset is switch off press centre button for long duration like 6 to 8 sec u will see that the blue light will be stable and continous then try to find ur headset in ur cell phone when u find it kindly select it and try to connect and if it ask for code type in 0000 four zeros and then it will pair up with ur headset you will see that blue light on headset will blink and then u can try calling
