How do you intilialize the ingenico i6780 pin pad?

Ensure there is power to the Signature Capture Pad (SCP).

If there is power to the SCP, you should see a lit LED in the top-left hand corner.

If not, then it is a power issue. Check your power supply and the powerbar or outlet it is plugged in to.

If there is a lit LED, then chances are the board-level battery is dead. It's a button-style battery. You can not replace it yourself.

You will need to contact Ingenico or the company that sold it to you, to arrange for them to replace this battery.

Any attempt to open the SCP will most likely result in completely disabling the SCP, requiring it to be sent to Ingenico for repair.

Reflash the PIN pad with firmware

Reload the PINentry form.

Your bank should be able to help you there.

pin pad is hanging up there is a small hole similar to dvd or cd emergency open that is pin pads reset hold down for 5 sec if it does not reboot s/w is shot

the only way that i know to get this fix is calling directly to Ingenico or you merchant provider if you have any warranty on it.here is the website. I hope this work for you.

This usually means the pin pad has lost the injected programming. Ingenico may be able to repair it, but since they consider that the pin pad has reached it's end of life and been discontinued, they may not.

hardware issues, they need to go back to ingenico or someother repair depo for repair.

Having similiar issues with the i6780. We are experiencing high percentage of hardware attacks/loss of encryption. Talked with ingenico support, they made reference to a known board issue, but i have not been able to get any details.
