Because you have a packard bell, I would assume this is a much older system.  You would have to put Windows 98 on it I presume unless you have enough memory to do XP.  Either way you will need one of the Windows CDs to load the software... I ve seen Win98 on Ebay for $50. Once you have the software, you will need a boot disk.. You can download this off the Internet.  What this boot disk does, is it loads the utilities that you need like to format the hard drive and it will also load the cd rom drivers so you can use your cd rom and install windows from the cd... Load the boot disk and once its loaded you can use the format command.  At the C Prompt, type     format C:     It will erase the Hard Drive. Once completed,  Reboot the computer with the boot disk still in. When it gets done you can install Windows. Most times it will assign the cd rom drive a letter. Usually D or E.   When it comes up type    E:\Setup This should start your install.                                                              Joe < Data Miner >

I have a Packard Bell Imedia desktop not sure of the model. It was working fine until recently, I switched on my pc and after the boot screen "NTLDR is missing Alt Ctrl Del" message appeared....

Remove the hard disk and attach it to an USB hard drive adapter and then connect it into the USB port of a working computer. This computer will detect the hard drive as an external storage device, then you can open the various folders and files to copy your files to this computer or burn your data to a CD/DVD disc or USB flash drive.
Return you hard disk back to your Packard Bell so you can reinstall Windows.

HI,
You can purchase any 300 Watt power supply for your computer. The only thing you need to match is the size of the power supply box. So that it fits correctly into your computer.

Led pins

I think you will have the an instruction manual of Packard Bell imedia 5106.In the manual an outline of the motherboard will be given.Figure out power and reset pins in the diagram given.

Usually the pins are at the corners only.
There will be labels near the pins like pwr rst etc.
Try connecting in the same configuration.
