VW mp3 cd player, can I get a reset default security code?

Codes cannot usually be reset by a user. Look in the original owner's manual for a code. If not, contact a dealership. You must be in Europe because Chryslers in the U.S. do not have security codes.

To the right of the six preset buttons on the face of the unit is a small small concave reset button. Push this to reset the entire unit. You will lose all your setting and the protection code will also be reset. The factory default is not to use the security code, but I recommend setting it to something you remember because this happens often enough on Kenwoods.

Press and hold the reset button (very small concave button to the right and below the main knob) You will have to set up everything on the unit because this will wipe the settings. It will also set the unit to the default of not using the security code. I recommend setting a code so if it locks accidentally, you know what the code is. There is no factory default for this on Kenwoods...it is user programmable.

Solution is simple and no code is needed. Make sure all wirw are secures and not opening spliced. Ones verifying, make sure radio is turned off and reset the protect button.

The Protect Button is pin hole size and is located right above the headphone jack. Hence all shpuld be good from there on.

Reset

Take both you vin and any serial numbers on the radio, cd player... like the one you have found, then take those to the dealership and they should be able to help you out. Hope that helps.

Use Windows Media Player to resync the songs to the player.

Underneath the unit, solder all the blobs (4 of them) and it should by pass the code. FixMyRadio dot Net

Kenwood Stereos do not have 5 digit codes. They are only a 4 digit code.
