I have a 1990 acura integra gs with a manual trans. it intermittently starts missing. it only happens once in a while and only in lower rpm ranges when i am accelerating. once i hit 2-2500 rpm it clears out. i tried fuel treatment thinking had water in the system as well as fuel injector cleaner. i did do a tune up 18 months ago and put new plugs and wires in. it seems maybe it does it when its wet out

Coil packs , alternator and possible h.t. cable flaw.. also see if there is n adequate connection between plugs and packs... check for cracks or power leaks. its not a fuel thing its a power/ spark issue. It only happens under heavy load ryt? (3,4 & 5 gear). Check what I am telling you. That's where your prob is.

Why does s3 and s4 on integra start flashing

I found this one the www.hondacarforum.com
http://www.hondacarforum.com/honda-technical/28562-i-have-1989-honda-integra-can-any-one-tell-me-what-s4-gear-stick.html

You have a couple of choices on this Honda transmission... D and S modes. Consider the D as the normal Drive mode and the S for Sport mode. The difference between the two is that in "D", the transmission will shift through the gears all the way to 4th gear and at lower rpm shift points. In "S", the transmission will shift at higher rpm levels and will go no higher than 3rd gear and light S3 on the dash. Once the vehicle is in 3rd gear (S3) you can then press the S4 button and the transmission will go into 4th gear (when conditions dictate). I believe there is even an S4 indicator on the dash signifying the trans is in 4th gear

The last line looks like it is the key here though.

If the car thinks its in 4th gear when you are trying to start it, obviously it wouldn't start...you could probably hunt around and see if there is a sensor on the transmission stick that runs the "D" vs "S" mode

Why won't my 1990 acura integra go over 4000 rpm?

Could be fuel filter. This will restrict a lot. If it is automatic it might be your transmission control module. Your check engine light should be coming on if it's not already.

1990 acura GS integra has new battery, alternator and starter but once in a while it doesnt want to start when you turn the key its like dead no cliking noise no nothing, I taken it to electrical mechanics...

If the car is 5 speed it could be the main efi relay or the clutch safety switch. I have had run in's with those two . If it's a automatic car the next time it happens push the shifter forward it may start some times the park safety switch can go out and cause this problem. Hope this info helps!!!

1990 acura integra - was driving car and all the sudden the engine quit and RPM's dropped. have plenty of gas, what are the possibilities/problem. Car will now not start

depends. First check for fuel and spark. Its rare a honda pump go out but it does happen. It has happened to me a couple times. Ive owned 14 hondas so this should be accurate. The ignition control module is located in the distributor, its a small square black piece that has four wires pluged onto it. Have that checked and also the coil. We'll go from there for now
