Could you give more information about what drive you replaced and what was the orginal drive.

I replaced the spare drive, which was named E Drive. The E has now become the DVD and the D was the E...does that make sense, it's beginning to confuse me. LOL

Hi there

I have an 80GB C Drive and a 10 GB E drive, i replaced the small one with a 40GB from my old computer. All i wanted to do was format it to keep pics n stuff on, but it's a problem for some reason. I've done this before with my first computer and had no problems with that at all, i just don't understand why i am now.

How to erase the hard drive on the acer aspire 1?

Double Click on My Computer, then Right Click on the C: Local Drive and select the option to Format. Remember formatting erases everything so I hope you have an operating system disk to reload. Why format?? If your system is bad and you have an operating system disk, then when you reload from it you will get a newly formated disk. But again you'll lose all your docs, music, pictures and any programs you've added since you bought the computer.

I reached capacity on my 220 gb hard drive. Got a 750 gb drive, copied my old one to it via acronis and replaced the old drive. Turned on laptop and got Dell diagnostics. When I exit diagnostics screen...

Unfortunately you cannot replace drives in that manner. The 2 drives are completely different and when you mirrored the smaller to the larger, your system does not recognize the drive because it is effectively not formatted or partitioned properly. The process you used would work between 2 drives of the same size and model, but not between 2 different drives.

Your best choice to to do a clean install of the OS on to the new drive, get everything installed and updated, and then transfer the important data ONLY from the old drive to the new.

My c703 won't format a new memory card. The old memory card is full (2GB), but I've tried two NEW Lexar 4GB cards and neither will format. Help!

Hi, The reason neither 4GB card will format is because that camera is only able to support, at most, a 2GB card. I'd suggest returning the 4GB card and getting another 2GB one.

My hard drive has failed in my LG LST-5403P PVR. I put in another (smaller) hard drive, but the unit still says "hdd failure" and won't format it. What can I do to get it to recognize the new...

If LG do as Poineer do, the hard drive has to be added to the system with a special service remote and a code. Maybe a drive of identical size may help?
Good luck.

PC/Mac compatability issues

Hi
Is it formatted in NTFS? OSX will read most formats but cannot write to NTFS.
I would suggest that you copy all your files from the drive on to the Mac then use disk utility to reformat the drive in the native Mac format and then copy everything back again.
You may find that once formatted, Time machine will pop up and ask if you want to use the drive as your time-machine back-up. If the drive is the same size as the Mac's drive (or smaller) I would say NO and get a larger drive to use for TM.
If you need to connect the drive to a windows machine at all then don't use the native format (HFS+), use FAT instead. The mac can work with that (although it will probably mess up your files names).

Formating hard disk

IF the old PC motherboard will recognize the drive while booting up, Windows 98 will also see the drive after boot-up. You may have to reformat the drive into smaller partitions.

All you have to do is physically install the drive in your old computer and attempt to boot. After the computer boots up, if the drive does not show up shut down and put the drive back in your old computer. Use the manufacturer's partitioning software available on their website to change the drive from one 250 Gb partitions to five 50 Gb partitions.

Hi this is tech crazy

The solution to the problem is as follows

The main reason for CPU fan overworking or not working is due to the load we put on the syatem while operating. So,the first reason for fan not working may be due to the SMPS malfunctionality.Better check out for it.The reason if fan is working but Overworking is due to viruses is system. So go in for format
