Acer aspire 4730z touch pad does not work

Touch pad did work but when i put win 7 it stoped working

Many of the computer components need updated drivers to run windows 7. a look at your computers specs shows it came with vista( http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/Aspire4730Z/Aspire4730Zsp2.shtml) here is acers drivers page for your computer ( http://support.acer.com/product/default.aspx?modelId=27 ) update all drivers to thhe latest versions. be awre though that not all manufacturers updated all of their older units to accept win 7 so yours may not. good luck

Is this a OS upgrade? What was the original OS? Win 7? It's a common problem with OS upgrades, Did you verify the minimum spec requirements for a Win 8 upgrade/install? I would revert back to win 7. Wait for Win 8.1. coming next month. I have both, in my opinion Win 8 is a pig, Win 8.1 is a pig with Lipstick.

You ran an upgrade. Try a clean install. Make sure drivers are support on Win 7.

Touch pad stoped working, keydoard stoped too.

there is a wide wire under the surface of keyboard that connects keyboard (and touch pad) with whole laptop.
i think one of the small cables of that wire is cut.
so take the laptop to a warranty center and explain the problem.

You need to install sound driver in order to get it worked with your new operating system. Installing MSUAA before installing sound driver may help (try using Win Vista sound driver). Go to this link to download:

Acer 5738z - scrolling up on touchpad does not work at all. scrolling down is ok. it may co-relates with win 7 upgrade. where to set up touchpad?

Navigate to Device Manager Start >> right click computer >> Device manager I believe for 7
If the device does not is missing completely, your touch pad needs to be replaced
If it does show up completely uninstall the driver, reboot and reinstall
