TV hardly used, turned on today and had sound but no picture. Shined flashlight at screen and could see picture. Any help would be appreciated.

We have sound but no picture, the AKAI logo no longer appears when the Tv powers up. We sent thispile of **** back to Akai for a repair 6 months after we bought it. The backlight led is burnt out, time to replace with new one. Most of the time it’s only 1-2 led are burnt. You need an electronic technician though. I may guide you if you want further assistance.
The backlight leds need replacing, you can get replacements very easy around $40 a set however it is a tricky job if you have not done it before, the lcd panel must be removed without damage, the backlights are stuck to the metal cover behind lcd panel.
Sounds like inverter boards or backlight boards are defective, there two of them in most Toshibas
and the master board usually dies. If when the tv is on and has sound look closely with a
flashlight shined at the screen you may see movement of the picture, as the screen is most
likely working, just no lights behind it.
