Hello. It is better to have a filter drier installed in a Air Conditioning system to catch any particles tjat may be in the lineset. However, the system will still work without a filter drier just better to have one installed.

I have 2 Carrier units, one for downstairs and another for upstairs. I think the blower unit must be in the attic. Do I have to go up into the attic to replace any filters? Do I need 2 EZ Flex FIlter...

You may or may not have to go into attic, depends if an additional filter system is installed. May have filter grille's install in ceiling, or wall. If no filter's on the interior, then there should be in the furnance or filter rack in the attic. Filters should be used for no more than 3 months without changing or cleaning if washable.

I have a Maytag window air conditioner unit (model M6T12FSA). The 'check filter' light came on and after I cleaned the filter, the 'check filter' light remains on even after a few hours of...

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the filter and reinstall it, being sure that it's installed properly. Particularly, which way the plastic filter frame is facing when installed.

Plug the unit back in and turn it ON. Hopefully, the electronics now will accept the filter being properly in place.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Fuel Filter Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Remove fuel tank.
  2. Remove fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit.
  3. Remove fuel filter from fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit.
To Install:
  1. Install fuel filter to fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit.
  2. Install fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit.
  3. Install fuel tank.

However, I would look at ignition or tune up issues rather than simply a fuel filter.

Find out what the engine problem is by having the engine's computer scanned through the OBD-II port.

Where is the filter on my actual unit? Have one in the ceiling is that the only one?

If someone has installed a filter return grill in the ceiling, then thats the only one you will have or need. Even if the original unit has a place for the filter, when an over head filter grill is installed, the installer will not put one in the unit as there is no need. Hope this answered your question and good luck!

Freezing up

This is a 2 1/2 ton unit, if it is a package unit, usually the installer has to install a filter rack in the return air duct. Try opening the side panels and see if they installed a filter rack in the unit itself, if not it could be in the ductwork itself, usually there will be a filter slot cut into the side of the sheetmetal duct, on the side, you remove the cover and replace the filter.
Now if you still have not found the filter, there is one more place they could be, in the structure there are large grills, these are your return air ducts, if you put a tissue on it, it will **** the tissue to the grill, sometimes these grills are hinged and the air filter is installed inside, just behind the grill.
If you still can not find it, then the installers, forgot to install one. Good Luck

How to change the filter ?

Your filter is in one of two places.

Either its in a filter grille or its at the furnace/air handler itself. If its in the grille, simply remove and replace.

If its in the unit, it will be at one far end of the unit opposite where the electrical connections are. It's uncommon for Goodman to be filtered at the unit as they do not have an independent filter access panel but I have seen it.

If its not in either of these locations, you either do not have a filter installed or your installing contractor has installed a filter box somewhere that will need to be located.

Hope this helps.

Daikin a/c FDY100LVIR N81. installed in suspended ceiling approx 2 mtrs. away from ceiling filter inlet. No filter pad provided for this inlet?. Told to attach a piece of wire to end of unit to withdraw...

Is this a new unit? Lots of units now come with no filter slot. I'm assuming this is above an acoustic tile ceiling. 24x48??? You need to have a 24×24 filter back return grill that lays in the ceiling. That way you change the filter by standing on a ladder. I'm a little confused about the wire thing but, the installer should have thought about how the return air was being filtered BUT, technically not their "responsibility." I'm guessing above the ceiling there is no duct attached to the return side of the unit??? If this were my unit I would buy a filter rack and have it attached to the unit and have my filters the unit. I'm assuming this is a business so what about your fresh air intake?? What filters that??? You need a filter AT THE UNIT. Not attached to a wire or whatever some i*^*t suggested. Hire professionals with credentials capable of doing the job right the first time!

There is no filter (was not installed) in the bottom of my unit (inside) air handler.... Why not? Now I am having problems...could this by why???

The new rheem and Ruud units have to have a filter rack installed in the unit. If it is an older unit the rack is inside the unit. You need to pull bottom cover of unit. I do not know why the new units do not com with filter racks and I have asked the distributor this question.Rusty
