You may try Topics' site, it is possible the either have a workaround or some kind of solution that would allow you to install it on a Windows 7 machine. Unfortunately, unless you have Windows 7 Professional or Business, you won't have the virtualization part of W 7 that allows you to run Windows XP within Windows 7. Sadly, a lot of good software became obsolete this way. Definitely had a few myself that got the axe on the move to 7.

Cannot get the software to work. This is the second disc received. Will not load, run - nothing. Could I have received two faulty discs in a row? Cannot contact Topics Entertainment. They don't even...

Hi

It's highly unlikely that 2 sets of software would prove tom be faulty.

The product is not listed, probably because it is not a current product. It is quite a few years old. I was able to find identical items for sale in various places (http://www.amazon.com/TOPICS-Entertainment-80920-Piano-Deluxe/dp/B000Q1N7A8), so the product seems legitimate.

A couple of basic things to check.

This software comes ona CD, so it should work in any functioning optical drive.

Do other discs work in your computer?

What Operating System are you using? this product only works with Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows. It is not designed for and may not work with Vista or 7.

If you do have Windows XP or earlier and your optical drive works with other CDs:

Insert the CD > My Computer > right click on CD Drive icon > Explore > look for a large file in the list of filles with the description "Application" and a ".exe" file extension and double click on its icon.

Hope this helps.

Hey there,
I don't know if there's an upgrade available, but I really doubt you'll be able to run the program under Win7. The easiest way (and it's still not easy) to run older (win 95/98) programs under XP or windows 7, is to install microsoft virtual pc:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

This will let you install an older version of windows under your current operating system. Its the easiest way i've found of being able to play older games/run older programs.

If this seems like too much of a chore, look for freeware versions of similar programs that will run under Win7. Here's just a few:

It seems to me like this program is not designed for Windows 7.
This has happened many times. Microsoft always upgrade but, do not include the words, " Previous Software may not work with new O/S. "
Im afraid this software will not work on Win 7. Sorry.
However you could try to ask Corel online if they have an upgrade, for this prog, for win 7. Hope this helps.

Here's one from left field,

After that, yes, there is an XP Mode available for free download to users of W7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise and would run your previous more "friendly" version.

I recently upgraded windows vista to windows 7. i did this for the sole purpose of getting my zoombinis logical journey to work and run. it will not start and i need to know if there's anthing i can do to...

well, i thought that windows 7 would have been developed to be compatible with ALL of the previous systems and programs that they were compatible with. as it is, windows 7 DOES have a way in the control panel that helped me out... there's actually a link in the control panel called "run programs made for previous versions of windows" it took a few tries to get the right setup for the game, but it's pretty self explanatory. sometimes it takes a couple of tries to start it up, but now i CAN play Zoombinis on my windows 7 pc.

8510p, reboot virus. crashed system. no system recovery done or

All versions of windows up and including windows vista are no longer supported.

This creates lots of problems trying to recover or install an older version of windows.

An IT friend as a favor may attempt a recovery but will take older versions of software. Mother boards etc can be swapped out etc and some parts/software available on line.

Most commercial computer repair may not be your least expensive choice.

Suggest finding an older computer used with windows 8 installed. Windows 10 takes a different hardware to get good performance and is usually not compatible to older machines.

The used market is filled with very inexpensive computers. Make sure if you elect to find a previously used it has some warranted!

If files are still intact on the old drive you may be able to install drive as a second slave drive and retrieve.

If you attempt to replace drive and do a fresh XP install (original generic discs) confirm that the (Windows Microsoft) numbers on the label of the lap top are ledge-able. The numbers are the licences required to register the software even if the XP is out of date you will likely be required to on line register with Microsoft.

Hope this helps
