Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer? Uninstall the device driver, restart the Comp and reinstall the software. If the scanner is not detected, try inserting any working device on the same USB port. if it detected, thee could be problem in the Scanner, if the new device is not detected, then it may be port problem.
Seems like your trying to use the camera from a shortcut? Instead, connect the camera and turn it on, if the screen of the camera has a selections creen, select PC or similar.
Then open my computer or computer from either desktop or from start menu. In my computer you should see the camera or a removeable storage device, inside you will find all the pictures of the camera.
please let me know if you need further assistance.
First makre sure that the usb is working. Just plug anythign into the usb port and if it detect it we know that is working.
Now with the GPS plug the usb cable into the port you tested then plug the gps on the other end. Watch your screen (PC) and see if it detects the gps. It should say one of two things. One will be device discovered Garmin GPS (something along that line) or it may show USB storage device. You can plug it in and look under my computer for these if you missed what it said. Some versions of windows are better than others at detecting whats connected. And some hardware is better than other at detecting something on a connected usb cable.
You should also plug the cable into a differant port if you had left it connected and were getting this problem. And you should try plugging both into a differant computer if you can. Doing these can tell you if the problem is the gps, the cable the port or the computer itself. Usually just changing the port is all it takes.
you cn check the connection b going into the properties of your sound card page and go to the section for input check if the mic shows up have you any drivers loaded for the mic... if you go to setting then control panel look for the sound and audio box there is block there for speech check you mic is selected.. you can try connecting via afront panel usb port as well or via you sound card inputs on the back panel
If the camera is not detected by the computer what you can try here is to try connecting the camera on a different USB port and check if it will be detected , but if still not detected if possible for you to try a different USB cable that will be better or if possible also try to connect the camera on a different computer so we can isolate the problem if its just the USB cable , the USB port or the camera itself that is bad...
Some motherboard BIOS's allow you to specify how many USB ports you want enabled go to your Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
go down to where it says Universal Serial Bus Controllers, click the + sign,
you will see a list of devices, probably something like this
via rev5 usb host controller
via rev5 usb host controller
usb printing support
usb mass storage controller
usb root hub
usb root hub
right click on the ones that say via or intel or SIS, or ALI, or Standard open host controller, and choose uninstall.
you will be asked if your sure, and you will see some of the USB root hubs disappear.
If you are asked to restart, choose no, and remove the other
via/sis/intel/etc open host controller (s) from your system, when they
have all been removed restart your computer.
when the computer restarts, it will detect the USB controller and connected devices, reinstall the drivers/software
